Equip my personal shop
You've got $500 to spend.
Equip me with everything you would like in your own personal shop.
Assume that I currently own nothing in regards of tuning/working on my own equipment.
If possible, try to include the prices of the various tools you would purchase.
My winter project will be setting up my own little shop in my basement.

OORRRRR......you could work part time in an archery shop and have all of that neat stuff at your disposal, and NOT have to buy it....

There are a lot of items you will need but some I will quickly mention is
Pegboard for behind your work bench and the one FREE handiest item I have is a large magnet from an old speaker.
With the magnet laying on the bench each & every small screw & allen wrench I'm using for that task gets thrown towards the magnet. It will grab it and hold it there for you until you need it again.
It really comes in handy and keeps the small items from rolling around into never-never land.
Other items that aren't free=
1. chronograph (to see if you got anywhere) $~100.00
2. press of some sorts (this will eat the majority of your money)
3. serving tool
4. fletching tools ( I still use the ez-fletch w/ helical)
5. a fletch stripping tool
6. an arrow cut saw
7. a scale to weigh your stuff
8. a sclae to weigh your draw weight
9. a smallradio so you can listen to The Savage Nation while you tweak[&:]
10. overhead bright light so you can see what's going on
11. a lazer center shot tool
12. a bow square
and on & on, but that should get you started imho

I'd get started with the very basic gear and then pick and choose items to add later on. You don't necessarily need a laser tuning aid or an arrow saw to get started. So I'd put those towards the end of your list until you have the extra $300 to spare. Yes, they are definately nice to have and can save time but I wouldn't classify them as a necessity. You can get an old school center shot tool for $10 and most places will now cut your shafts to length at your request.

What kind of bow(s) will this home shop be servicing ?
What I would spend it on depends heavily on what it will be used for .

$500 wouldn't cover the furniture.Shoot a good coffee maker is over 100, and Iwouldn't even think of entertaining without some place to sit and drink some imports. I haven't even mentioned the humidor or the art work.
I like Robs. He failed to mention that camera that takes the nice pics though.Dave had some good ones too.
