Here's what the heart of my buddies buck looked like tonight. Leg forward slightly quartering away. Arrow hit about 8 inches behind the shoulder went thru the heart and smashed/broke the opposite front leg with a 4 blade 100 gr. Muzzy.

Washington, Great picture but what it doesnt show is where the backstraps are. Alot of high hits that guys think go through the void are actually going above the spine in the back strap.. Walt

ok the Black Hole is high behind the shoulder and misses the lungs many hunters hit this area and think they have a downed deer with all the blood to get no where I have found this information in many books the one I like the most and take with me in the woods as part of my gear is

The Black Hole does exsist it is located high above the shoulder blade and misses both lungs Hunters have hit this spot many times and have done long searches to find nothing at the end of the road. I've gotten my info in many books one I always carry in the field pack " Finding Wounded Deer " author John Trout Jr.

Heidicazz1, yes, you can be high/forward of the body cavity, that is not the void area in question.
