Flying squirel
 

I saw a flying squirel tonight while hunting. Any of you ever see them before? Man what a cool sight. I live in central MN, I didn't even know there were flying squirels in MN. I watched it for about half an hour. At one point it was at eye level and about 15 feet away. Man can those things dart through the air.

At one point I was watching the squirel glide from tree to tree and I even check out the cracking I heard (was another hunter).

Anyway, just thought it was cool to see.

They are a cool little rodent. Most people don't know that they are around because they are nocturnal and rarely seen in the daylight.

Sounds like you experienced one of the true highlights of bow hunting with your encounter. :)

I remember several years ago when i was little, I was at my grandmas and there was a tree out from her house that was full of them for some reason. They were just gliding around from limb to limb. My uncle caught one somehow and showed it to me. Very interesting little animal. I have never seem any of them since, but I will always remember that.

Havent saw any in years but they sure are cute little things.

I have never seen one, I don't think they are in Va.
