I like the Garmin eTrex.

I just replaced my eTrax Vista with a Vista Cx. Very intuitive to operate.

I own two Garmins and am completely satisified. I started with a GPS-12 then upgraded to an E-Trex Vista C. I shopped around online and found the Vista under $200 new. Honestly, a Legend or regular Vista would work just as well, just without the luxury of color. Bottom line, Garmin, for me, are easy and reliable.

I purchased a Lowrance Explorer a few months back & am less than happy with it. Everybody says Garmin, but NOOO I don't listen, try to live outside of the box & got bit.
Stick with the Garmin I guess because my Lowrance makes me [:@]sometimes.

I used to work for Garmin so of course I have to say Garmin. The etrx series is by far the best bang IMO.

I used to have about 10 different units but I am finally down to a couple.

Etrex Vista color is a great unt.

I bought a magellan 3 years ago and hated it. I ended up giving the thing away. I was at Bass Pro last week and would have bought a garmin Etrex but they were sold out of them. They are easy to use and not very expensive depending on what model you choose.

I've had a garmin for almost 10 years (first the GPSII plus and then the Etrex Venture) and have nothing but good things to say about them. I had a glitch with the GPSII and the customer service people at Garmin were absolutely awesome to deal with, and they didn't charge me dime one to refurbish the internal lithium battery.

I used to work in the Customer repair department, they do a great job in there. We used to get all kinds of GPS that came in as chew toys from their pets. There were some crazy things that were done to them.

I have the little balck and yellow 100 dollar etex and it does everything i need it to do, Wonderful and easy to operate. Only thing you do have to sit down and play with it a few times to understand it but the more you start using it the better... I highly reccomend. My dad has a magellan and he can hardly operate it without the book...
