It has been my experiance that deer tics are sooo small ( the size of a pin head) that they really can't be gripped with anything, like a regular tic can. I've had only 2 deer tics on me everand I was lucky enough to find them and use a straight edge razor to pluck them off. They are quite hard to see unlike regular tics.Anybody agree with this?

I hate ticks, but I have been using the permethrin spray on my clothing religiously and have been very fortunate not to find any ticks at all. Knock on wood! I know they are there my friend has been getting them and I have gooten them until I used the spray.
YOu must follow the directions on the can! MY buddies think they can just spray real quick and they will be good, WRONG! I saturate my pants the night before and hang to dry. Its suposed to be good for 6 weeks and through washings, but I treat them every time I launder. I have gone through 2 case of the 9 oz cans since the spring time.
Early In- as far as tick size, deer tick come in three sizes actually 4, Larve, nymph and adult male and female. the Females are redish in color. the males are slightly smaller and black. The Larvae is the smallest and can barely be seen.

defanantly not chiggers, i have had them both. deer ticks are tan colored.
chiggers are red in color. a deer tic bite is in my opinion is worse than a dog tic bite. they seem to drive you crazy with the itching. are you guys pulling my leg about the tobasco sauceseems like it would set you on fire in the bite area. come on guys are ya??

think your right, i have a card with pics and size of ticks, the deer tick is actually very small, kinda red in color. probably the size of a pencil led point, not for sure, but i think you can contract the lyme from any of them. also read the tick has to be embeded in your skin for12 to 24 hour and be infected for you to get it.

I got covered with them last week when I was scouting out a piece of public ground. My daughter counted 161 bites on one leg from my knee to my ankle. Both legs were covered! I went to the doc and he gave me a couple weeks worth of antibiotics to fend off Lyme's disease.
