Shot technique
Just curious, what's everybody's shot technique? Do you try and hold on the spot and release, or pass thru, and time your release? Or something differant? I've been experimenting with a 3D target bymoving up from the back side of the front leg, and time the release.

RE: Shot technique
when i shoot an index finger release, I squeeze it off just like a rifle. DOnt worry about where the pin is going, just try to keep it as small of a circle as possible.
With a backtension release, its the same aiming technique, except i rotate my hand and pull my shoulder blades together to get the shot to fire. |
RE: Shot technique
Never try to time your shot. It's proper technique to hold on spot and concentrate, hold, concentrate and squeeze, actually, apply back tension, the shot should be a surprise.
When timing, the brain and the finger never work together and that's how target panic happens. Hold on spot, concentrate on the spot, the pin secondary. |
RE: Shot technique
Float the pin on the target, just like you would the scope of a rifle.
Trying to time the shot or trying to hold the pin in one place is using muscles in your arm/hand that you shouldn't be. Relax everything and float the pin. Squeeze the trigger. You'll know when the timing is right. |
RE: Shot technique
Rob, are target panic and flinching the same?
|
RE: Shot technique
Pull back, sight pin onto target, float the pin around the target in as small of a circle as possible while placing my figer on the trigger. Let the pin float a bit and slowly pull the trigger. As you shoot more and more, the floating pin will move in smaller and smaller circles making you a better shot.
No target panic. |
