Bow grips

Anyone take they grips off their bowsand just wrap it?? I have an old bow with a honker of a grip. Shoots great though... Everyone around me takes theirs off and wraps them with either the Limbsaver stuff or something they get from Academy in the tennis rack area. I took mine off and they all said it was the best thing I could have done. Only thing is now I shoot horribly to the left. Groups are awsome but all to the left. I really have to change my grip to get them to move over.
So what do ya'll say.... handle or no handle??? Suggestions on what to wrap with???

If you're shooting "off the riser" you need to use a low-wrist grip. If not it's probably why your tweaking the shot left. (torque)

I got a Hartl's Custom (Tronjo) grip on my XT. Better than shooting off the riser IMHO ;)

I'm not an expert but I took my grip off, split a 4" long 3/8" diameter wood dowel in half, and glued it to the back of the riser, then wrapped it with camo moleskin. It really helped tighten my groups! I think it helps reduce the torque applied by your grip. Keep your grip as open as possible.
If your shooting to the left, did you move your sight to the left to correct it?

Good one, Rob... and sadly, the truth.

That's exactly what I had on my XT when I sold it... Ron does fabulous work, and his products and service are top-shelf.

The back of the riser, where the palm of my hand rests, is squared off. I need to round that off and wrap it. Probably do the trick.
Sad to say I shoot a 15 year old bow. Proline NewWave Point Blank.
But I'm not switching and I'm not buying a new bow.... Not because I'm stuborn... Because I'm a new daddy and don't have the funds...lol....
If and when I get my grip right I can group 4 - 5 arrows in the white at 20 yards. Thats all I need.....
