Scent Away Detergent
Well I have used this stuff for a long time but I am starting to wonder how good it is.When I wash some camo I usually pour a ton of it in my the washer. When i got my camo out of the washer I noticed my camo still smelled dirty. It just did not smell clean or scentfree to me.Does anyone have any tips for this stuff.I thought about throwing in some baking soda. What do you think?

RE: Scent Away Detergent
I don't spend the money for the fancy scent free detergent. I just throw a bunch of baking soda in instead. Kills the scent completely.
Fades the clothing a bit, but I don't mind too terribly much. |

Your problem may simply be hard water interfering with your laundry detergent , adding too much detergent can also affect the results , follow the directions . I've used Atsko Sport Wash for a number of years , it works great . I also add a box of baking soda to the rinse cycle for added insurance .

So if I'm going to use the baking sada method to wash just my hunting gear how much baking soda needs to go in? When do you put it in?

RE: Scent Away Detergent
I use about a 1/2 to 2/3 cup baking soda with my cloths. thats just a guess cuz I just pour it in until it looks like enough.

Another baking soda fan here. You can get a big bag of the stuff in the laundry aisle at the store. It has a scoop in it, and directions for using with laundry. I got a 5 or 8 pound bag of the stuff for just a few bucks. I may have got it at Sams Club?? I don't really remember, since the bag has lasted me 2 seasons so far, and I wash my clothes in it about weekly. Depends on how many times I go out.
