Do you know where your going to sit opening morning?
 

For those who don't have an open season yet....any ideas on opening morning? Wind will probably decide where I go, but still 100 different scenarios are running through my head. lol

Wind will decide for me as well but I have 4 different set ups for different winds. I am really hoping for a north wind.

Seems to be a good bet around here most of the time.

I like N-NW for one of my favorite stands but I need a cold front to push through for that to happen usually.

The wind will decide which stand I sit in, possibly in a ground blind! We'll see on the 16th!

Its all up to the wind. I have no say whatsoever. Therefore I'll relax and not think about it until Oct. 1st. YEAH RIGHT!!!!!

I have to tree stands but only one up right now, it's set up for a southwest wind. If the wind doesn't cooperate I'll be using my blind. I'll be putting the other stand up once I see where their moving at certain times.

Not sure about opening morning, but I know exactly where I am going to sit on opening evening if wind works out for me.

I still don't know. It's the biggest decision of the year!!!

THIS Saturday is opening day for me! I've got several options - all of which are, of course, up a tree!

Most of my stands are situated in such a way that wind won't matter much. The deer seem to come from all directions! If the wind is wrong for one way they may come from another. NW winds would be best for my stands. Actually N winds would probably be the worst, but I'm pretty well surrounded!

Similiar to Andy but I'm thinking about a ground blind setup as well.

The opening day in Missouri is Friday, Sept. 15. I know where I'll be sitting - in the office :(. It's just killing me! Good luck to all you other opening day hunters.

Things dont get started rocken around here untill Holloween. so i may skip opening day.

I know where I’m going opening morning (Oct 7 here in VA). Same spot I got a buck last year. I almost always see deer from this stand site; last year I had 8 deer within 15 yards at the same time (which actually made it hard to draw without being seen). It’s in the woods, 3/4ths of the way up a ridge, just above a thickly wooded area just above some CRP fields. It’s a mixed area of trees, bushes and clear spots, where the deer funnel in the morning on their way up from the fields to their bedding areas in the national forest, just behind our property. I was there this past Saturday to clear shooting lanes and saw the biggest buck piles I’ve ever seen…several of them within 20 yards of my stand site. Yep, I know where I’ll be!:)

partially...i know the area. my close friend(more of an uncle to me) farms ALOT of the land. he also hunts..but only rifle. but i been hunting with him a few years and theres nothing more he wants then to get me a buck. this is my first year bowhunting and were both excited. he knows i have the patients..he been watching EIGHT bucks on one piece of land. one is a giant. a few other shooters. i think 2 are said to be illegal 6pts. but a neighbor seen 3 BIG bucks together in the field heading towards the spot the farmer wants me set up. i know the area but not the exzact tree yet. and if you guys doubt his ability ask the last kid he set up. he missed 2 shooter bucks before 9am one morning!! it aint always that easy...but you put me and the farmer together and we should atleast see some deer this season. hes good at getting you on game and away from other hunters..im sure ill have to fine tune his setup because i know more about deer movement then he does..but im excited.

bad thing is hes been seeing them....but so has everyone else in the township..though alot of guys dont bowhunt...theres enough that could potentialy ruin it...but the area he wants me in should give me first crack so long they dont change patterns 100%..and should be away from the other guys...if not we already know where they will run to once they know pressure is on...and we got an area picked out for that.....and i got an evening stand picked out already too...i cant wait

The first morning of the PA opener I hope to be sitting at a stream crossing or behind a bush about 1000 miles north of where I live, watching a P&Y caribou walk into bow range. I can barely stand the waiting.......

i'll likely take a quick walk around the ranch 2 days before season, and let the sign dictate where I'll go. The wind is pretty consistantly out of the south here, so most of my stands are set up for that wind.

YES! I have this sweet spot with a comfy chair, I like to call this place work! I have to work midnights the opener, but I have the stand I'll sit in for the 2nd if the wind cooperates

Iwill more than likely be in a tree near where I killed my buck last year. It doesn't really matter if I see anything that day or not. The anticipation is killing me.

Yea if i cant my buddy to cover my shift Ill be sitting at my desk at work from 7-3 :(, but hey if not that still gioves me a few hours when I get home.

I'm going to a spot that we scouted twice, and just cleared lanes last week. My buddy and I each have a tree picked out. We could see that both sites are close to well traveled deer runs, but we aren't sure which way the deer move at what times, so we're taking a chance on wind direction. Now, for the second day of the season, if this spot doesn't work out, I've got several sites picked out on another piece of property and can play the wind a little bit better there.

Still as I go through all my hunting spots, wind scenarios and whatever else comes up.......I STILL CAN'T DECIDE!! This indecision is going to kill me I swear. lol

I will most likely be sitting in a treestand i have just inside the woodline of a big cornfield that was just planted this year for the first time. The treestand overlooks a well used run that connects with another run. Man i only hope to see a big mainframe 10 come walking in front of my stand, broadside, with an unobstructed shot at 15 yards away.
