tying on a loop..

i want to change my sting loop this week, but dont want it to untie and pop myself in the face. i see alot of places sell packs of them. how hard are they to tie in place?? any info?? knots to use...instruction...take it to a shop?? any info? thanx guys....just rather do it myself..cant be tooo comlicated could it? thanx guys.....just want to change mine before i DO pop myself in the mouth. i used pliers(stupid i knowww) to loosen the knots and adjust my nock so it got slightly frayed. nothing to worry about..just rather have it changed for peace of mind...

RE: tying on a loop..

its hard to explain in words how to tie them on, so i would just take it to a pro shop. it takes about 1 min to do it.

I think its just a standard half hitch that they use to tie it on. Can any verify?

Don'tt forget to make big burnballs on the end so they dont slip through and use a set of needlenose pliers to get it nice and tight.

after i tied mine and burnt the endsI hit up the ends with gorilla glue (the best glue in the WORLD), just to make sure it wasnt going anywhere.

Hey Mauser,
I saw that serving diagram too. -And that D-loop, he must have one really large bow string and nock:D!
Instead of a bookmark, just right mouse click over the photo and 'save as' to your 'Archery Related' folder. Then you can begin a library of archery related images. Just a thought.....

What about those Knotless Loops? I guess you would need a bow press though to take the string off the cam to install it.

RE: tying on a loop..

thank you all. i bought a pack tonight and tied one on. simple. no problems. first time the knots were loose and it turned out to be way to big. tightened it down and its perfect. thanx everyone

KCMO...thats a good idea..i never thought of that but i should..when i save stuff like that and go back sometimes the pics are no longer hosted and i cant find them again. if i save them they will be on my PC forever. thanx im going to start doing that.
