Pain In Gut While Using Climber This Morning!

I had all I could do to get up 25ft. The pain started on the very first pull of the foot section. It got worse as I accended. By the time I was at 18ft or so I was hurting bad. I was in a tree picked out in the dark with no cover around it so I had to be up a ways. It hurt the entire time but was tolerable. I hunted till 9 and started down. Again the pain grew as I decended. It feels like I'm being stabbed. (I checked and I'm not)

Have any of you had a hurnia? I'm thinking it's that or a pulled muscle. Let me know what you guys think!

Most likely a pull or small tear in an abdominal muscle. It is not serious but can be very tender (as you know). Take an anti inflamatory like aspirin, celebrex, motrin etc and don't use a climber for awhile. If you aggravate it you will screw up the rest of the season for yourself.

ITS CALLED OUT OF SHAPE, AND THAT PAIN IS NORMAL. WHILE CLIMBING UP/DOWN YOU WERE USING YOUR AB (stomach) MUSCLES, YOU MIGHT OF NEVER USED THEM BEFORE. DO SIT UPS TO LOOSEN THEM BEFORE HUNTING.

Thanks for the replies!

borealboy - It sounds like you know what your talkng about I'm listening to you.

Bull1870 - That can't be it! Your crazy. We work out every other day at work. I haven't been doing situps though I hate them. Damn it!

BowhunterCop - I've used those muscles all my life. I'm very active in the outdoors and other sports. I've been using climbers for years. The pain wasn't normal, I tore a muscle.

I woke up and was in the woods climbing within 10min. My body was in shock and it reacted. Thats my excuse! Stretching is a good idea before going out! Pass the word.

Mantis,

You're lucky you didn't get a hernia. When you mentioned acute pain when you first starting climbing, I had flashbacks.

I had one of those hernias. Dumba$$ me, tried to pick up my 30gal fish aquarium (full with water and fish!) to move it and the stand away from the wall, so my wife could clean back there. Well the actual weight of the entire thing was well over 300 lbs. I felt this WICKED SHARP PAIN like I got shot or stabbed and it dropped me to my knees. It was the most stupidest thing I could have done. At least I enjoyed myself afterwards by taking Percocet(sp?)! That was some good stuff! hehehhe....
