tritium pins????

Truglo® Tritium/Fiber-Optic Pin
$26.99

I am contemplating getting new and much brighter sights--I like a three-pin set-up and want to get one as bright as possible, but don;t want to use lights or anything, just fiber optics. I saw these at cabelas and thought maybe I could get one to add to my set-up instead of buying new sights. Has anybody had any experience with them--if not what is the brightest 3-pin sight (using no arificial lights) that you would reccommend???

I'm sure the subject of sights has been hashed and re-hashed here and I'm sorry I'm to lazy to dig thru the archives
thanks

RE: tritium pins????

I bought one of the .029 green ones with the intentions of using it to hunt out of my ground blinds with and was very disappointed in the brighteness of it. My regular fiber pins were much brighter. I was expecting them to be as bright as my Meprolite night sights on my XD45 but was very disappointed.

I have a Savage pendulum with a tritium pin, I like it much better than the Keller with the red light.

Jersey, how long have you had your savage tritium pin?
I got one 2 years ago and the pin has lost it's brightness.

I emailed Savage and the tritium pin is no longer available for sale but
they have one left overthat someone else returned and will swap it out with mine or they offered to send mea flag pin.

The Cobra Sidewinder fiber optic pins I think are brighter but the tritiums are good if you can't have a large coil like with the pendulum sights.

I got it a little before May of 03 as Dogmeat a member here emailed me abot it and I still have that message. I believe they supposed to last atleast 5 years.

RE: tritium pins????

The tritium pin won't be brighter during most of the day, only at daybreak and dusk. Then it will "glow". It won't wash out your target. I love mine. I have used lights, but they require batteries and time to turn them on and off. The tritium glows all the time. Mine is 2 years old and still just as bright. I love mine.
