ignorant people

Well I'm new to this site and I recently posted posted a forum about my new bow shooting left. Sald I no longer have to worry about this as all of my hunting equipment (aside from my camo) has been stolen. My shed was broken into and my summit stand was stolen and crzy enough so was the safety harness. My reflex excursion, remington 30-06 passed down from my grandfather, mossberg 835, and my hi-point 9mm all taken from my house. I'm thinking it was someoneI knew as only my hunting equipment was taken. I barely have enough money to pay my bills and have been letting some of them golet alone replace all of my equipment. I have no many mixed feelings running through me,I don't know what to think. The only thing I have left is hunting license and camo. Sorry, just had to vent I guess.

wow, what is with people. how were these people brought up to steal from another person? that makes me very upset, what in the world are those type of people thinking.

I feel ya. When I was 21-22 I had all my hockey equipment stolen. I never had the money to replace it, so I quite playing, and then as time went on I never got back around to it. I always said that I would go to jail for murder if I found they guy that did it.

I probably would go to jail if I found out who did it. Not for murder though...well not intentionally, but it's hard to say what can happen when you beat someone in the face with the platform of a stand.

Sorry to hear that. I hope things turn around for you. For now you have a decision to make. You can be pissed or you can be happy. Don't let the guy that stole you stuff steal your charma.

F... dude! that makes me mad just hearing it. Did you have your place fingerprinted or file a police report? Sorry to hear man, the rifle you mentioned would have been the worse to me.

RE: ignorant people

Hopefully you have the S/N numbers. If they get caught, it's a Federal Offense.

Yea, it was really hard and still is learning that my paps gun is gone. Especially since he gave it to me about a year before he died. I don't have the S/N for my grandfathers gun but I do for the rest of em. The only thing is, I'm not really good with the whole book keeping thing so who knows where they are. I did file a police report and they did fingerprint, however, a friend of mines house was broken into approx 2 months ago (twice actually) and had guns stolen, got fingerprints from a window, and never heard anything about it again to date. So my faith in the justice system is little.

Just find the numbers. Sounds like you have a small group roaming around. They'll get caught sooner or later. I wish you luck.

RE: ignorant people

i know the feeling. i am a soldier and the company that the military contracted to move me several years ago stole my wifes and my bow along with about $1000.00 worth of fishing poles. they were smart enough to stay away from the guns. never caught them and i didn't get any money from them. maybe justice will prevail and they will accidently shoot themselves with a stolen gun.

RE: ignorant people

I had some stuff stolen a while back.I don't know how big of city you live in,but I made a list of everything that was stolen and gave it to every pawn/hawk shop for a 100 miles.I asked them that if they see anything like this please contact the police(I also had the SN from 2 of the rifles).About a year later I was called from a county sherrif about 2 hr drive they had my guns and a guy who stole it.I never did get ALL of it back but I go some and a little justice(I would have rather kicked the crap outta him).

I'am sorry that this has happened to you,and since you mentioned that you might know him/them.I would start looking at motives and alibies.

Man thats really a drag. I hope you have insurance. It will help a little. If you have insurance don't forget the deductable so don't forget that outboard moter and lawn mower and all the other tools they took. Good Luck I hope you catch them and they heel slow.

Sconer, are you going to be able to hunt now? You said your funds are a little low. Can you borrow someones equipment? Maybe some of us can somehow help you out. Sorry for what happened.

I feel you man.
I got home from a basketball game 4 years ago to have the worst thing ever happen. It was dark when we walked in, so no one noticd the boot print on the door r the knob layin in the floor. we just thought one of us left the door open. It was 7 days before christmas, andi looked at the gun cabinet which was open and empty. i yelled at mom to get out, and then noticed all the presnts gone form under the tree. This was quite upseting me being only 11 or 12 at the time. I went in my room to see a case xx knife collection stolen(8 knives, complete set of pocket worns), my wallet with 200 dollars gone, and my antique coin collection. Wat made it worst is that they didnt touch anyone elses rooms or any of the electronics...only my stuff. Then while outside waiting for the police i happened to look in thefishing boat to notice very pole and tackle box and depth finder all gone. And we only had the s/n to one shotgun, which still hasnt turned up. NOW i keep numbers on every gun, knife, piece of eqiuipment i own. i also have a gun safe now. THEY WIPED ME OUT COMPLETELY. I just dont know wat kind of person could do this?

Sconer, don't give up on the justice system yet.
Last year we had someone come into our house (basement door was left unlocked for my son to get in after school) they stole adigital camera, a video camera and some ofmy wife's jewelry and some cash.
We called the police, they came out never found any finger prints or any other evidence, but wewere able to provide the serial numbers for the cameras.
Last month adeputy from the sheriffs office came by the house and told us the cameras had been recovered off of a juvenile that used to live in our neighborhood.
We go to juvenile court in September.
So you have to believe, itwill just take time.

Hey Sconer,
Sorry to hear about your theft. Are you in northern PA? This is a real problem in northern PA and southern New York right now. As far as finger prints go, crimes are solved by prints about %1 of the time. The lift of the fingerprint has to be almost perfect and if the suspect is not already in the FBI fingerprint database from a previous crime it will turn up nothing. But, itis not uncommon for stolen guns to turn up somewhere down the line in another crime or if a dirtbag is trying to save his ownrear and turns over information to Police about another dirtbag this could reveal some stolen property. Keep your chin up and keep pressure on the investigating agency...the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
