I personally prefer 4 blade, just because you get that much more cutting surface. BUT, in your case, I think I would go w/ the 3 blade. That extra cutting blade also adds more drag, reducing penetration.

I HAVE USED MUZZY 3 BLADES FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND HAVE NEVER HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE. IF YOU USE THREE BLADE YOU CAN ALIGN YOUR BLADES WITH YOUR FLETCHING ALLOWING FOR A MORE TRUE ARROW FLIGHT.THE CHISEL POINT ISLETHAL ON BONE IF YOU HIT A SHOULDER OR SPINE.

I have shot 3 blades for many years and the 3 blades muzzys work great for me - most deer dropping with-in 45 yards. The 3-blade heads don't offer as many cutting surfaces, BUT they are significantly wider.

I shoot 4 blade muzzy's because I get excellent flight with them. The 3 or 4 blade will work equally well.

The"drag" difference will be unnoticed in the two heads. Your shooting into an animal that is full of lubricating fluids not a foam target. The cutting surface is not enough to make a difference either. Also you do not have to line up three blade heads with the fletching...makes no difference what so ever.

Just shoot the ones that fly the best and put it in the right spot and everything will be fine.

I would go with the 3 blade. I used to shoot the 4 blade but I felt that the 3 blade flew better...
