OPINION ON PSE BOWS

I need some advice. The bow I'm using is an OLD Bear variable compound bow. It really should be in a museum somewhere. And it's a left handed bow I've got rigged up to shoot right handed. (don't ask) It works fine except I can't canter the bow to the side like I should because the arrow would fall off the rest. I bought it used and didn't know anything about bows. That's how come I ended up with a left handed bow. Anyway, now that I'm into the sport full bore, I'm thinking of buying a new bow. I live in a pretty rural area so pro shops and selections are limited. Buying on the internet is not an option for me either because I don't use credit cards. But the 1 pro shop we do have down here has a PSE Team Fitzgerald 29" variable compound bow with all the rigging except for silencers and a peep sight for $219.00. It has a thong arrow rest and tru glow sight. You guys have any opinions on PSE bows? I've never used them. I do like the shorter limbs on it though because I hunt a lot from the ground and from under trees and in brush. It would be much easier to move around in thick cover like I hunt. What do you guys think? Is this a good deal?

I have an old PSE Centerflite Edge 1000 from about 8 years ago. I picked it up off Ebay for $75 bucks, then had it fully checked out by the guys in the bow shop. It's straight, squarely aligned, and #65 pounds, 30" draw, and great condition. I had to dump about $75-100 bucks more to fully outfit it though (it camed stripped down since the guy on Ebay used the accessories on another bow). It's a rock solid bow and I am impressed with it.

I do a lot of target shooting with Hoyts, but I've started to hunt with a PSE Dakota. So far, it's a reliable, no-nonsense, forgiving bow. It's plenty accurate for hunting, and it's also one of the quietest bows I've shot yet.

RE: OPINION ON PSE BOWS

I may be a little biased because I sell the bows, but I have shot my share of bows and have not found a better product than PSE. I am not saying some of the other manufacturers aren't making top quality, but with the combination of PSE's well known customer service and quality product, you can't go wrong. If price means quality to you go with the Nitro or a Team Primos or any of the other top of the line bows they make. If you are looking for a deal, the Team Fitzgerald is a pretty good deal, but it does have the older style wheels and metal cables. I am not saying it isn't a quality product, but I would spend a little extra and buy a Beast with their Inferno Cam or Synergy Wheel. If the dealer is not a Pro Shop dealer then go for the Nova, Dakota or the Thunderbolt. If you go with the Fitzgerald I think you will get years of service from the bow. If you want my opinion of the best feeling bow they make, I would have to say the Nitro is as sweet as it gets.

I shoot a PSE and have for quite some time. I love it - SR1000 Infinity.

Do not know about the team Fitzgerald - but would think it would be a good bow!

Highly recamend the PSE but please what ever you do don't buy any more bows like the one you have. There could be serious problems with modifying a bow like that.
