RE: Record 4 pointer

No, I certainly have not. There is something about that buck's rackthat I really like. Pretty neat. Thanks for sharing those pictures. It seems like the outer dimensions of the forky might be bigger than the 9 or 10 point that was behind him in the first one. I have seen some huge 6 pointers before. In fact, last year there was one killed in Miami County, Ohio that measured well into P&Y but I can't remember the exact number. Never seen a forky with dimensions like that though.

I wonder if that'sa really old buck who's rack is on the decline?? Man....and to think that buck isn't even legal in my county.....Sheesh.

RE: Record 4 pointer

Thats a really nice rack and here in Pa he is not shootable..........

RE: Record 4 pointer

You need to get those genetics out of your heard. If you don't want to shoot him a youth would probably love the chance.

RE: Record 4 pointer

Yup I saw one recently like that.

RE: Record 4 pointer

He looks on the younger side to me really, from the photo anyways. Prolly just weird genetics. Looks wild, might make a crazy looking rack in a year or two.

RE: Record 4 pointer

yeah there was one about that size runnin around in the national forests here in western Pa.

And to think if you shot him, and someone said... "Oh, you only shot a four-pointer..." :)

RE: Record 4 pointer

Yup, a buddy in Georgia shot one years ago with a 22 inch spread, huge long main beams and crotch pointsand lots of mass. It was so astronomical he mounted a 4 point and hung it next to his big 10 point.

RE: Record 4 pointer

What a perfect example of why antler restrictions are dumb..........who, in their right mind would consider this deer untouchable because he only has 4 points?

That is a very cool deer and extremely unique. I think that he would make a very intersting mount..........just to see people do a double take when they see it............watching them rotate their heads looking for the other points would be pretty funny.

RDHunter 08-27-2006 01:10 PM

RE: Record 4 pointer

That is pretty odd for a big buck , no brow tines at all .
Here in Michigan you could shoot him but I'm sure in other states you woiuldn't be able to.
Nice picture thanks for sharing.

RE: Record 4 pointer

What a man of a 4 point!!!!!!! I have never seen one like that. Back in my homestate of Georgia, he would be in big trouble....... ;)

RE: Record 4 pointer

That's a cool looking buck, but if you are interested in keeping good genetics in your herd I would probably try to remove him before you have a bunch of big four pointers running around.

RE: Record 4 pointer

Nice .but not legal here

justhunt 08-27-2006 01:53 PM

RE: Record 4 pointer

I'm going to take him if given the shot. I think he is an older buck. He has the long nose and looks to be bigger than the 9 or 10 with him. Hopefully I'll see him in person.

if you look really close you can tell that picture was doctored in photo shop>:D

RE: Record 4 pointer

That is a young animal, look at the hips and front shoulders. The animal is around a 100lbs dressed i would guess. Depends upon the day, I would be proud of the forks.....but on the other hand it would be tough using my only buck tag on him. Young deer......final answer.

nope nice 4 pointer tho

Whats the proof of photoshop. I looked at the deer and it looks good to me. State your facts on this so we can see what your talking about.

And to think if you shot him, and someone said... "Oh, you only shot a four-pointer..." :)
He'd be an illegal kill here in PA except for a youth, imagine that. He's not 3 points on side.

hatchet jack 08-27-2006 04:14 PM

RE: Record 4 pointer

Yes I have seen a 4pt like that here in Pa. The man who shoot it was given a fine by the Game Warden . Bucks must have atleast 3points to a side here in PA

Kamil 08-27-2006 05:48 PM

RE: Record 4 pointer

thats a really young deer ...i'd keep an eye on him over the next few years

jwh86 08-28-2006 08:27 AM

RE: Record 4 pointer

i have a 5 point that is almost the same size as him. I'll post pictures of him tonight.

He might not have been done growing yet, but he will be a nice buck that's for sure.

RE: Record 4 pointer

We had a huge buck get hit by a car just down the road from the police station. It only had two little brow tines but massive beams that stuck out to an almost 30" spread! Looked like a Longhorn Steer!

PABuckchser 08-28-2006 10:44 AM

RE: Record 4 pointer

justhunt,

I have video footage of a huge 4 pointer from several years ago. He had a brow tine on his left side, but wasn't long enough to be legal. After seeing your pic brings back some great memories of my younger years.

quiksilver 08-28-2006 11:36 AM

RE: Record 4 pointer

That's a really nice buck - good luck on that.

That looks a lot like a six pointer that I got in 04. Almost 19" spread onhim, and not evena hint of browtine.

surrybigbuckhunter 08-28-2006 12:33 PM

RE: Record 4 pointer

that's a big 4. never seen one that big
