2006 Pronghorn

Here's my antelope for this year. After seven years waiting for a tag I thank god I got one.haha. I hunted this buck for over a week and finally got him. I will be honest and say that I did shoot at him and missed previously in the week. But sometimes I can get lucky. Green scored 80 7/8.

The antelope came from unit 79 in colorado. It's been taking six points to draw a tag in that unit. And it's been that long since I've had a colorado antelope tag.

mauser06, thanks

Here's the low down on the hunt details.

Browning mirage bow
Trophy Ridge sight
Prong rest
Cobra release
xx75 2315 29"
125gr thunderheads

Antelope was grazing with a herd of does about twenty including kidds. I took the shot at 20 yds after the buck fed towards me and some slow stalking. The arrow sliced the top of the heart and went through the opposite shoulder. The antelope ran about 25yds and went down hard, he was down in about ten seconds. It's getting harder to draw local tags for Pronghorn so I was really happy to have got to hunt them this year.
