Distance and weight
 

my draw weight right now is at 50 pounds and I was wondering if it is possible to buy an extra sight and set it to like 35 and if I did that would 50 pounds draw back be powerfull enough to go through a deer?

Possible ???? Maybe . . . Advisable . . . no. In my opinion it is too light. Also in Washington State a 35# bow would be illegal.

Yes, a sight pin set for 35yrds will work provided you can shoot accurately at that distance. I know a lot of guys who have 3 pins: 20, 30 and 40 yrd.

Spinner, my draw weight is only 55lbs and I have sight pins for 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 yds. The 50 and 60 yd. pins are for practice only as I don't believe 55#'s is enough at those distances. For deer sized game I think a 50# draw weight is probably enough for shots out to 35 yds. as long as you are very consistent at shot placement at that range. If your accuracy at 35 yds. is iffy I wouldn't shoot. Good luck and be safe.

first off, dont shoot pass your comfort range just because a deer is there. Let them walk and move your stand later!

Second, you are probably getting more KE AND Mom then most of us stickbow benders with those wheels of your and I know many who have shot game at some distances I care not speak of!

The farther out, the less room for error, and the more time for something to happen!

Get close, its what bowhunting is all about!!!
