I believe that this type of mushroom can only retain that shape for a short period of time. As it gets older, it will lose it's firmness and begin to droop.

While that may be true for the traditional, standard version of this particualr genus......I happen to have sample(s) of a species that grows larger than the one depicted, here.....and is guaranteed to keep its' original shape long after the effect of gravity typically cause the demise of the standard. They do cost more than the free version, though.....but I/we think they're worth it round our house. Jeff |
