Also, alot of these old timer country folk, like the ones around here would rather see a guy dressed in jeans and flannel than a guy dressed in khakis and sweaters. I live and work on a farm so I dont have to worry about this part. :DThe point im getting at is presentation to an older countryfied dude is not the same as a job interveiw. Go dressed to work and you'll go far. You have to have a way with these guys. Don't talk to much and listen to what they say more. Don't ever act like a know it all, but act like you want to learn things from them. Never correct anything they say to you, even if you think theyre wrong :D

I know a few guys who offer the land owner a $100 or so for thier trouble. Also offer to post it and keep other people off his land. A hundred bucks is still a lot of money to older guys.

See, there you go....go down to Home Depot or such, and get a BUNCH of tyvek No Huntingsigns and a hammer tacker(stapler) and go to his house, and just tell him you know he has had an issue, and that you had some extra signs, and wondered if he wanted you to place them, then ask if he has specific areas for you to place them..

I would give him part of the meat as well as paying him to hunt on his land (If you want the land that badly). It should be hard to pass up the chance at getting free meat for doing absolutely nothing.

These all sound like good ideas. If they work treat the land like it's yours. If he says "No" say Thank you and walk away. Drop some meat off this season for them. If you see the guy out working in the yard or doing anything elsehelp him out all year long. If I was the land owner I would feel hard pressed to say "Yes" at this time of year.

It's like dating, a young lady is not going to say "yes" to someone walking down the street. You have to prove yourself to her first. Remember "wine and dine"
