feathers or veins?

I have always used a prong style rest. I recently purchased a whisker biscuit. I am curious as to whether feathers or veins are better. I have heard that it tears up veins, but to my experience it seems to tear up my feathers as well. Any suggestions?

Feathers will hold up a bit longer than veins as long as you have the WB tuned properly.
