Sept. 15th for me here in the upstate. I just got done walking through the woods for the last time until 9/15. I've found some white oaks that are loaded. I've found places where they are already gorging themselves on muscadines. I've seen deer just about every trip in the woods. I've gained access to 200 acres within a half mile of my home, most of it has never been hunted so it should be a great year. (my home is about 2 miles out of the city limits) Unfortunately I don't have any bucks pegged and have no clue what to expect as far as bucks. Just rumors of what people saw cross the road by my land. You know how that goes. Its either a gross exaggeration or it really was a jaw dropper, no real inbetween.

Most the lower state guys aren't having much fun it appears from their posts on alocal forum. Too hot and too little daytime activity.

I got a chance to hunt on the 18th. I saw a doe with triplets w/ spots. You don't see that too often.
I don't care how hot it is, I'll take advantage of any opportunity to head to the woods. It sure beats the alternative.

I've been out 4 evenings and haven't seen a deer.Couple of friends have been seeing some does.WAY too hot, yet.
