I think all my sweat may break the drought we're having.I often wear shorts and a t-shirt under a mesh bug suit and really keep up with the wind.

Here's an idea,

Find a spot where the deer are crossing the creek andactually sit IN the creek. It would be nice and cool andstealthy too.

Okay maybe not. I think the heat is gettin to me.

I'll bet the Indians did it, though.

I cannot imagine what it's like to hunt with mosquitos! Totally foreign concept in michigan. By October 1, we've usually had our first good frost and the mosquitos are gone. It's the one thing I love about hunting in Michigan - No HEAT.

Well I usually pack all my goods in the walk in freezer. I soak my bug suit in water and freeze that too. Next I put 2 pounds of dry ice in my pack and wear it at all times. After about4 minutes in the texas/oklahoma heat, everything melts (dry ice evaporates) and I begin to sweat. Since sweating is pretty much inevitable, I don't feel that the amount of sweat really matters. Therefore I pull a huge cooler on wheels stocked with colddrinks and bags of ice. If I can't find a skunk to get sprayed by on the way to the stand I will roll in the closest cowpie for my cover scent. Then I setup the ground blind (over the top of the cooler since it won't fit through the door. From there, I take a breath and stick my head in the cooler and come up periodically for air and to see if there are any deer. At the end of the evening (or morning) I will dump the remaining contents of the cooler on my head and make the trek back to camp. It hasn't really worked yet, but I think this may be the year.

Down here in South Carolina, we know all about skeeters and heat. These are a necessity for me:
Don't use a climber if at all possible; you'll be soaked by the time you make it half way up the tree.
Bug tamer with a tank top and shorts underneath.
Thermacell for those nasty blood suckers.
Camelpack full of ice water.
Scent wafers and cover scent spray. I use lots of cover scent because your gonna sweat.
Most importantly, hunt with the wind inyour favor.

East Texas up a pine = Bugtamers with nothing but boxers underneath. I soak my head with water periodically and let it run down my body, soaking the bug tamer on its way to evaporation.

Southwest Texas- I’ll be trying the ground blindin boxers route. I'll be dressed to & from the stand of course . Maybe I could store gallons of water in the stand and replenish between hunts?
