Ladder Stand

I am contemplating purchasing a new ladder stand to use during both gun and bow season. Has anyone spent anytime in a River's Edge stand? If so, what did you think? Also does anyone have any recomendations for a quality ladder stand that can be used for both bow and gun? Thanks!

RE: Ladder Stand

I just got a new 12 ft. ladder stand last week from Menards. I can't remember the brand name right now...I think something with "Timber" in it...I will definitly send you another message when i go out and check the box. Anyway it comes in two sizes: a 12 ft stand for 2 people...with a shooting rail....or a 15 ft for one person, without a shooting rail. It was very easy to set up and its very comfortable and quiet. The 12 ft was like $20 more than the 15ft one....hope that helps!!!

I bought a CAbelas double seater and it is nice. Also have two Ol' Man ladders and really like them. Haven't been in the RE.

I've got a 2 man ladder stand I bought a few years ago. Not a bad stand at all. It is definately a better gun stand than a bow stand. However for getting my son involved with hunting it does great.

I bought a 15' hunters view at Dicks Sporting Goods last summer for $50.00. It's been great. I've only bow hunted out of it (only because that is all I can do behind the house.) Easy setup and comfortable.
Not sure if you have them in your area. I saw the same one on sale for $60 recently. Last summer they did a 'lowest of the season' and that's when I grabbed it.

Ladders are nice because the are already setup and you are in quickly. but I still have an API climber that goes everywhere else with me. I'm setup and in the tree in 10 minutes.

If you happen to be one of their Buyer's Club members it can be delivered to your door for $113 .

I have a rivers edge two man stand and I love it. It does how ever take the portable out of portable stand. It is heavy. But once it is in the tree it is nice.

I have a River's Edge and it works just fine. I use ladder stands is pines mostly. The only problem I have had is where the sections slide into each other slipping a little between hunts,so when you climb up they can shift and make a squeeking noise. I don't know how that would be avoided though, especially after a storm or something.
