All comments and opinions welcome.

mobowhuntr,
Do you have an opinion about BowTech bows or am I supposed to try to guess what you are implying with the "face and popcorn"??

mobow 08-04-2006 04:50 PM

RE: BowTech Bows

Sorry, dude. I was merely implying that Bowtech's are talked about here ALL the time. There are more guys here that have them than I can count. Just jump forums and you'll find countless posts regarding bowtech bows.

They are great, no doubt about it. The Allegiance is simply one of the best bows on the market.

Just got my allegiance and absolutely love it!!!! :)all of my bows in the past have held special places in my heart, but performance wise nothing beats THIS Bow! For a shorter draw length shooter like myself its wonderful.

the views and opinions expressed by this member are his and always right!!

I've purchased 2 Bowtechs since 2003 and I've had no problems. Nothing but good things to say.

Hello I am a short draw Archer. I am only 5ft2 and my draw length is 25". so you like that bow.

RE: BowTech Bows

No harm meant (or taken) mobowhuntr.
I just didn't know what you were referring to with your first post.

I'm just got back into shooting my bow after an 8 year "pause", and the one I'm shooting now sounds really loud and doesn't shoot as nice asmy friendsbows that I'm at the range with.

I've been doing research on the internet about bows and made up a list of what I want in a bow and BowTech offers one that fills all my "needs/wants" in a bow.
Problem now is,I have never heard of BowTech (until a few days ago), much less ever held one or seen one in action. And the closest dealer is 50 miles from me.

I just want to make sure that this bow will live up to the "hype" that my research says before I make that drive.

Thank You.

RE: BowTech Bows

well Pparrish I sugguest you try a few differernt bows before making your final decision about what bow to eventually get. lots of good manufactures and they all have their own pros and cons such as Hoyt, mathews, bowtech, darton,etc.... but the bowtech is the finest in my opinion ;) it has a great new cam system for speed and cam synchronization. it's quiet, no valley and don't even think about creeping the string or your arm will be torn off! I love it!!

3 bowtechs in three years...simply put they are the best I've ever shot. The Tribute and Allegiance are absolutely awesome. You can not go wrong and well worth the investment.

After shooting Hoyt's for about 10 years, I purchased my first Bowtech, an Allegiance after a lengthy research project...read about it here: http://www.huntingnet.com/fieldjournal/fieldjournal_detail.aspx?nID=434

I heard they have really smooth draw, but are rather slow when compared to other higher end bows.

I started shooting Bowtech back when the Black Knight was first introduced and I just bought my 2nd being a Allegiance 06 and as far as I am concerned they are the best on the market but like they say to each his own best to find what is best for you.

I've got my Martin that I will be hunting with this season. I don't jump on anything out of impulse (anymore);).
I've got a bow shop that is close to me but they don't carry BowTech's, so.....
Right now I'm deciding whether I should drive the 50 miles to look at a BowTech or just a few miles to look at all the other brand names.
(So far this forum has talked me into the drive.)
I will handle plenty of bows before next summer and by this time next year I WILL be shooting a new bow (maybe a BowTech).

Keep the opinions coming...............

Great Article Rob/PA Bowyer.
But it didn't mention anything about the BowTech research.

whoever called Bowtechs slow is on some serious drugs. I looked at all the other bows, Hoyt, Mathews, PSE, Alpine, and the others. Shot most of them......Shot a Bowtech Tribute.........the rest was history.

Shot them all and pic the one that feels the best in your hands. That's why they have so many different brands.

I would highly recommend them. I am currently shooting both a Bowtech Old Glory and a Diamond (by Bowtech) Justice. Both cater to the activity I intend to use them for...3D and hunting respectively. Excellent design, very rugged, very accurate and very fast. Here is a link to a review I did of the '06 Old Glory a few months back.

owned 3 matthews bows, and switched to a BowTech Tribute last year.
Un-freekin'-believable!
2 complaints....the hex-nuts in the cam came loose afterthe first couple hundred shots (to which my bowshop said, "duh! You shoot something that fast that much and it will come loose! They tightened them and they've never come loose again!!) and the grip felt a bit "hollow" towards the bottom (bowshop removed and replaced...and its all good now).
Incredibly fast - incredibly quiet.

I love my 2004 Patriot, but it developed a cracked limb in June and now here it is August and I have to get ready for Hunting. So far no new limbs and plenty of excuses from the distributer and the pro shop and all I hear is That Bowtech will take care of you. Well they have not and I feel screwed. Work on your Warranty service, Bowtech!

I'd just rather have two BowTechs, Rob... ;)

The Tribute and the Allegiance, respectively.

Any specific questions, pparish?

I bought a Bowtech when they first came out...was the first one in my "gang" to have one. Took some heck cause no one heard of it before. Now everyone has one and I am on my third...soon to buy my fourth (Allegience)...

Pro= just about everything
Cons= as far as I can find...none

No, not right now.
First, I need to find a dealer close enough to me that has what I want so I can see if it "fits".
Then, I'll some questions.

Thanks for all the input so far guys.

RE: BowTech Bows

OK, I'll just give you some of my general impressions after being a single-cam shooter, and specifically a shooter of Mathews bows, for six years before switching to BowTechs... Specifically, I shot an MQ-1 (some say the finest bow Mathews has ever produced) for five years, and -- more recently -- the new Switchback XT.

If you're used to the draw experience of a solocam, the binary cam draw curve will feel quite different at first, simply because it "ramps up" a lot quicker. Some people absolutley love this; for some, it takes a bit getting used to.

I will tell you that the draw stop peg, and its accompanying infinite adjustability, is the best feature I've felt on a bow when it comes to how the draw ends up feeling. You can pull hard into the wall, and your draw length will be exactly the same shot after shot. Obviously, consistency of form is one of the key criterion in the quest for accuracy, so that's a big bonus.

I love the fact that the binary cams' biggest feature is that the cams are "slaved" together, meaning any imbalances in the system get auto-corrected. BowTechs also come with some of the finest strings any manufacturer puts on their factory bows, meaning you're going to experience little to no string stretch, virtually no peep rotation after you've "shot in" your string, and you're not going to drop another $50-60 on a set of strings for a bow you've just dropped $600-700 on.

I also think the grips are some of the best on the market, as I used to remove all my factory grips on my Mathews and replace them with aftermarket grips by Tronjo.

Best of all though is the fact I love shooting a machine that is every bit of smooth as my old bows while generating approximately 25 fps more with the same arrow. It's not that I'm necessarily a speed freak, but that speed factors into kinetic energy, thereby allowing me to shoot a heavier arrow at close to the same speeds I was achieving previously, but all the while packing a bigger punch.

Hope that helps somewhat; those are my personal observations and reasons for shooting the equipment I do these days.

RE: BowTech Bows

Bowtech has stepped up and created a bow for every possible shooter or situation. they have combined some so you get smoothness/ speed / shootability etc. Basically there should not be a bow in the line up that will tickle your fantsy........also check the Diamond line up. I have a Diamond victory, a tribute in max 4 an allegiance in HD green, a Chrome old glory and a max four old glory..........yes I have a problem. But I just cannot help myself.....enjoy your search.[8D]:);) I cannot wait till next year already!!

Pparrish 08-07-2006 05:39 PM

RE: BowTech Bows

Good information Greg/MO. Thanks.
I'm shooting a twin cam design right now, so the draw curve issue will not be an issue with me.
I just found a shop fairly close to me that has them in stock. So hopefully within the next few weeks I'll be there trying on some bows.:D
