what kind of exercises can i do to strenghten my bow-pulling arm?

RE: exercises?
Probably something along the lines of a lat pull down or pull ups. Maybe some bent over rows.
Most of the work is done in the lat muscle. |
RE: exercises?
i agree lat work, shoulder work and back work would be a good routine. i think working the pectorials(benching) and bicep work wouldnt hurt either. i used to powerlift pretty hard till i started working and just didnt have the time to stay after school and work out and gyms are too far to make it convinent..i still have my muscle i just need to work them back into shape...i shoot righthanded and i noticed my left shoulder is getting tired quick......this is my first day actually shooting. probably shot 40 or so shots so far today. i shot 20 or so then took a lunch break..shot 10 or so took a break..10 more took a break. its HOT out....trying to stay cool and keep my muscles going to keep good form and work on my form. i find myself going over mental checks and holding the bow back for about 20-30seconds before releasing sometimes. ill definently start working out again this year at college...can only help....make pulling it back even easier and holding it back easier. i was surprised though when my muscles are fresh i can draw and hold it back for a long while....

RE: exercises?
you need to work the rhomboids too. take a bungie cord and hold it out in front of your chest and pull out toward shoulders hold 5 seconds at 5 reps. Do this twice a day and you'll keep them in shape
