Best buck by gun or bow????
Have you taken your best bucks with a gun or a bow? My top 3 bucks have been by the bow route. Just wondering about the rest of you. Not even planning on using a gun this year. Just planning on spending a lot of time in a tree with my bow.

Bow, I've taken more bucks with a bow than with a gun but I pretty much gave up guns on deer more than a decade ago. I haven't shot a buck with a gun in over 10 years.

Bow by far. I've only taken 2 bucks with a gun, a 4 pt (my 1st buck ever) and a very large spike. I'll probably never shoot another buck with a rifle again.

I have taken good dear with both but here is a pic of my personal favorite.. maybe not the biggest dear ever but he has an extra main beam growing out from HIS right hand side.. He's a non typical 9pointer.. Not bad, sorry for the bad pic though. I took it with my old digital camera..

My best is w/ a gun I hate to say. I took a 98" 8 point with a gun in the 2002 season. I have taken quite a few with both, however haven't killed a buck since that one in 2002. I made a promise to myself in the year 2000 that I wasn't going to kill bucks anymore that weren't at least as wide and taller than their ears, and I have stuck to it. I have passed quite a few deer in the last 3 years that were in the 75-90" category, including one 100" 8 last season that I should have probably shot. I do still hunt with a rifle, but only maybe 3-4 days a year. I spend roughly 25 full days on stand during archery season, so my chances are much better with a bow these days.
