Found some new land!!! BOWHUNT ONLY!!!
 

Well guys, I just was informed today that the company I work for has some land available to bowhunters only. Of course, I jumped on this really quickly and emailed the guy. He sent me a list of rules and a topo of the outlined area.

Nowyour guys' mission is to check out the map and give me a clue as to whereI might want tostartmy scouting. I have never been here yet but will be going there real soon. It is close to a nice size lake.

I can hunt within the black borders. The circles with x's is where we're supposed to park.

look for saddles...Id start out hunting north of the center parking area, right on the huge steep bottom area.

Thanks Duc, I only live a few hours from there and have been needing new property to hunt in Va. I'll scout it in the next few weeks and let you know where I set up.:D

Steep hillsides if it's where I'm thinking. Most hunters will avoid these areas but the big bucks will hide there.

Congrats on the new land. How many other hunters will be hunting there?
I hope you get most of it to yourself. Look for some good funnel areas.

Fieldmouse: The game wardens patrol that area pretty heavy they tell me. I have to give them vehicle info but if you drive a silver tacoma with the same plates as mine, then come on up.;)So where do you live?

I work for AEP so I know theres alot of employees but I heard not many people take advantage.

I'm down in Raleigh. I reconize the areabut thats about it. I don't need anymore land in Va. I have access to to a little over a 1000 acreas all around the state but I just don't have the time to get there. I'm taking my son up over Thanksgiving though and hunting a few of the farms I started out on years ago. I haven't hunted in Va. in about 13 years but I am looking forward to getting out on that weekend. I plan on showing the less skilled hunters (gun clubbers) how to do it.:D

definately the benches i would have to say....you should see alot of "main" trails along the benches.
