Blazer Shrink vanes
I seen these on the web at bass pro the other day and was curious if anyone
has tried them? Seems like a much easier way to refletch an arrow. I just don't know how durable they would be. link http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.TextId?hvarTextId=79620&hvarDept=400&a mp;hvarEvent=&hvarClassCode=14&hvarSubCode =8&hvarTarget=browse |
RE: Blazer Shrink vanes
Shrink Vanes are great.... I am using the Quick Spin version and love them...

RE: Blazer Shrink vanes
Helical? Left, right? Offset?
I thought they sounded slick, too, but I prefer as much twist as I can get on them, soif they're eitherstraight or just offset I don't think I'll mess with them. |
RE: Blazer Shrink vanes
Do they move up or down while you are trying to dip them or do they stay put on the arrow where you place them? I think when I need to refletch I will buy them and try the blazers.

RE: Blazer Shrink vanes
I was in the BPS in Arundel Mills yesterday and we were talking about the shrink wrap vanes. One of the guys said he tried them and when he shot the arrow, the vanes fell on the ground at his feet and the arrow went flying down range.
![]() I'm sure he didn't put them on right but I thought it was funny. |
RE: Blazer Shrink vanes
That is funny. I wonder if he had a smaller diameter arrow than what the shrink would shrink to. We use alot of the shrink stuff here at work and you can not pull that stuff off when it is properly installed. I wonder how it will work in the WB rest though? That is why I am going to try the blazers since I have heard great reviews with the 2" vanes and WB's.

RE: Blazer Shrink vanes
Those are pretty cool looking. Maybe I won't glue my fingers together anymore??? I'd like to try em...

RE: Blazer Shrink vanes
I looked at the picture on BPS' web site and they look like a straight clamp with a right offset. The offset doesn't look like that much. I like to make mine with a helical offset. I might split a dozen with my friend just to see how they work.

RE: Blazer Shrink vanes
Ijust switched to the same kinda vane, but mine are glued on. at firstI did it becauseI wanted 3 arrows for wet weather hunting, afterI seen how they flew and the groupsI was getting from them,I fletched 3 more. I also shoot the muzzy drop away rest so that also helps,(dont have to worry about ripping fletchings off). try em I think youll like em they fly like a feather from what ive seen if not better.
