game cam problem
 

Has anyone ever had heat be a factor in game cam usage. I have a wildview that has been working good until the temp got up to 98 degrees and the heat index is like 120 degrees. when i checked it it was locked up. L.E.D. reading was showing but it would not trigger. i shut it off then it would not come back on. i replaced the batteries thinking this might be the problem. same thing! But when i took it indoors where it was cool and after a while it worked fine. my moultree 200 is working great.

I've heard several folks on the forums complain about their cams sensitivity during this heat we've all been having. It seems to be more of a problem with the cheaper cams though. I know I have never heard of any heat problems with the Cuddebacks and Leaf Rivers.

i have a new cuddeback excite and it works fine inside but when i put it out in the 95 degree heat it will not save images to the memory card, so i'm taking it back this weekend.

my moultrie 200 3.1 mp does just fine :Dthe trigger speed is a little slow but nothing a little corn cant help

It's been over 100 here in Woodstock MD for the past three days and all my pics have been comming out fine. I am using a Stealth Cam 2.0

I called Moultrie the other day and they said that the heat will definitely affect the infrared sensor since the sensor detects the animal heat.

If animals are like us, with body temperatures at 98.6 degrees and the surrounding temperature is close to being the same - then maybe it does make sense.
