Sonic Broadheads or Slick Trick

I am thinking of changing Broadheads from Muzzy to either the Slick Trick broadheads I've heard mentioned on here or the Sonic Broadheads with that "Zero Plane" claim. Who out there has used either of these? opinions? Do they really shoot like a field point? Thanks in advance

Yep. They fly great! If you can't decide, you could just do what cougarmag did......Use all 3..;)

I'm no expert and will only give you my opinion on this.
I've shot both the Sonics and the Slick Tricks. What I noticed different with the Sonics is--a good blood trail. The deer I shot with the sonic died within sight of my stand, but the entry and exit wounds were small, because of the size of the BH and the blood trail wasn't impressive. However there was quite a bit of blood where the animal RIP.

The Tricksmakes a nastier wound and this year the newer Tricks are supposed to be even sharper. I'm waiting on my order to arrive any day now.
However they both fly great and does get the job done when placed in the kill zone. Both are good heads, but the tricks IMO opens up a uglier wound.
5-shot, a member of the board, is an authority on testing broadheads, you can send him a email for his opinion--I'm sure his advice will convince you what head to choose.

Both are very accurate heads that should fly well for you. The sonics penetrate better ( due to the smaller overall cutting surface) and are slightly sharper. The Slick tricks make a larger wound channel and offer more overall cutting surface. It really boils down to what you want the most out of from your broadhead.

Never shot the sonics... but can't go wrong w/ the ST's! They aren't kidding when they say 10 guage hole!

I used sonic 100gr BH 7/8"diameter last year and was impressed at their flight. I want to order the ST for this year as they look more durable and they say that they fly just as true.
I was a little far back last year and the buck only ran 80yds B4 piling up dead.

Thanks for the inputs, since I only draw 52 lbs with a 27" draw I"m thinking the penetration aspects of the Sonic might be the way to go. I appreciate all the inputs but nobody really came to the defense of the clainms that they fly like Field Points. Anyone got an opinion on that?

I tested the liberty version of the Sonic heads last year. Flight was not bad, but definitely not like my field points.

I tested them side by side against muzzys, Thunderheads and Wasp Boss SSTs. The Liberty came in last in that group.
