I use BCY ML-6. I wax my string and cables once a week whether they need it or not.

String wax, put it on - rub it in and shoot away.
I heard but never tried putting a little vegetable oil on your cams keeps them quiet.
Anybody eles heard of this?

Bow wax is an essential part of your equipment!

First off, there is no such thing as a dumb question when it comes to bowhunting. And yes, bow string is the most important thing to keep your bow in pretty good shape. You can buy it at any pro shop, cabelas, bass pro, maybe walmart. You take it and rub it onto the whole string, it will be chunky and small pieces will break off. Then you take your thumb and index finger and rub it into the string. The heat from your fingers and string will melt the wax into it. If you don't do this regularly your bowstring will become a piece of crap and you will be replacing it a lot.

Don't use vegetable oil! It isn't a good lubricant because it will solidify. People who know more than me advise using a dry lubricant.
