Oneida shooters?

Being new to the site and not finding a "search" option.

I am wondering how many out there are shooting an Oneida bow?

My current setup is a 2005 CP Oneida Black Eagle.

Thanks

I think you make # 2. Bottom right hand corner is the search button.

Dairy King is the other, and from my recollection, you are the only 2.

Oneida. is that the crazy looking bow that kinda looks like a recurve ?
I'm surprised that company hasn't been sued out of existence.

I once owned a Screaming Eagle, Strike Eagle, and a Lite Force Magnum. To this day they were the smoothest drawing bows I ever owned.

RE: Oneida shooters?

How would they have been sued? They were pretty much the first to ever try anything like this.

Because they work the way Bowtech wished their bows did!!!!

I have a Black Eagle and a Tomcat. Love them both.

Thanks for the replies.....and the location of the "search" function.

I knew this post would get some negative comments but that's OK. We all have our opinions on bows. There really isn't a "Bad" bow out there any more.

If you haven't shot an Oneida since Claude Pollington bought it..they are NOTHING like they were in the 80's.

Thanks again everyone.

Ihad a Tomcat from about 1994 to 2000. It wasn't a bad bow at all. Smooth drawand changing the string was a snap. Once it was drawn, rest the lower limb on your leg and you could hold it for days. My biggest problem with it was limiting how far I turned after drawing back. Since I normally shoot while sitting, this resulted in LEG slap to go along with the slap of the limbs at the hinge and of course a complete miss.

Is it better or worse? I've owned two BEs one before and one after. I can tell you the one before was way better then the one after pollington. Maybe they were still getting their feet wet but I've been tempted to get my older one back.

Fieldmouse....I've never owned one after CP bought it, but I've never heard of a problem as bad as your bow. You really need to call them up and tell them your whole situation, they would seriously fix it.

And I've never heard of limb cracking on any Oneida bow, not saying it never happened, but I don't think it was that big of a deal really.

There is nothing wrong with Oneidas. My Oneida Tomcat shoots awesome. Its definetly not a problem to work on either. The most Ive had to do with mine is change a cable and a couple strings, thats it.

Ever have any tiller problems with them bad boys?

IL Rancher 07-25-2006 07:27 PM

RE: Oneida shooters?

Tiller problems are pretty easy to fix with the timing system. You just need to know how to measure it and adjust accordingly... That is the thing with Oneidas. They are just different than standard wheel bows. I have people watch me work on one for someone and they get this confused look and wonder how I do it, looks so complicated. Same look I have on my face when someone is working on a standard wheel bow in a bow press.. It just a matter of perspective and what you are used to.

I would say for the better. If you are having a problem with your Oneida (doesn't matter how old it is) contact CP Oneida and they will help you. The customer service through CPO is outstanding.

I haven't had a problem with tiller on either my 95 Phantom II or my 01 Monster Bows BE (all custom bow, not a production bow, one of a kind.)

I finally did email them. I'm shipping it back for a complete once over. I completely believe my issues had to do with the change of hands and a learning curve. I will let you all know how it turns out.
