Guess I will carry 3 different broadheads
this fall. Will be carrying my old reliable Muzzy 3 blade, Rocky Mtn. Turbos(tried these last yr. and lovem), and just ordered a 3 pack of Slick Trick 100 magnums. Been hearing a lot about these.........its time I try them out. Heck, I've never seen one in person.
I am not going to be doing any testing, just tuning. I leave the testing to 5 shot.;) |

Don't get yourself all confused when it comes time to play some string music! Holy cow, which is your first out? ;)
By the time I decided which one to use, the deer would be in the next county....All excellent choices. |

im stickin with my crimson talons. out of 11 bow kills last year i didnt have a deer go further then 30 yards after the shot. those things are sick

RE: Guess I will carry 3 different broadheads
Cougar Mag, I don't blame you one bit. I usually have 3 or 4 different heads in one quiver- all flight tested before resharpening and then matched to their proven arrow.
Different heads, different fletch- it donesn't matter as long as they are landing true. I'll be carrying Muzzy 3 blades & phantoms, slick tricks, stingers & sidewinders. (sidewinders are for smaller pigs that come in at dark) They'll all kill, but phantoms & slick tricks are my confidence heads. |

I don't understand why you wouldn't just use one type of broadhead. It doesn't make any sence to me. Can someone explain? If you are confident with one type over the other wouldn't you want that blade?

RE: Guess I will carry 3 different broadheads
Do all three of your choices shoot the same? Are there any adjustments that need to be made from one type of broad head to the other, such as pin placement ect..?? I am just curious.

RE: Guess I will carry 3 different broadheads
I shoot 3 heads as well, Rcky mtn snypers, magnus stingers and muzzy's. But i only carry the snypers and stingers in the woods. My reasoning... I like the advantages that each type has, be it fixed or mechs. I also use fixed for larger game IE bear, elk, etc. But prefer mechs for deer. Killed succesfully w/ both. Had some failures w/ old mechs, (too large a cut dia) but the new design i shoot seems to be really effective and failsafe.
Copper, so you know, If your bow is properly tuned the heads should all shoot the same. I jsut tested last week and got a 3 inch group w/ 6 arrows (2 of each head) at 35 yrds. So for me its just whatever i feel like shooting. I prefer the stingers overthe muzzy's cause i think they have slightly better flight and are sharper. |

How do you pick the one you will use for a particular day.
