Quick Spins....Helical? Straight? Offset?

Which way should I fletch them? Does it matter?

I've always heard either straight or offset! I have always offset them. and they seem to fly great, and my groups are awesome.

If rest clearance is not an issue, like in a drop away, helical is best, the quicker you get an arrow spinning the better it will stabilize. If clearance is an issue, offset is your next best bet and straight being the least effective.

Well, I normally shoot Helical, but i figured maybe not with the quickspins... Someone told me you shouldnt do that with them, but i'm gonna try one and see how it flys...

Rob is correct, but with the Quick Spins helix just isn't necessary. In fact, we've found it to be a hinderance. The Quick Spins are designed to do just that. Spin, and quickly. Fletch a regular vane w/ helical and fletch a Quick Spin straight and the QS spins faster. Spin stabilizes the arrow by creating air resistance. This resistance also slows your arrow down faster. Putting a QS on helical would do nothing but create "air brakes" on your arrow. You just don't need it with them.

Okay, I'll admit it. I'm an idiot when it comes to some of this stuff. [&:]

I've been wondering this for a while and just never asked it here and I always forget to ask when I'm at the shop. What is "offset"? I kinda have an idea but...... Does it make the arrow spin or what??

I know I should already know this so please forgive me for such a newby question. Anyway, someone please explain and make me smarter.

Thanks,
TXMM

RE: Quick Spins....Helical? Straight? Offset?

tx, consider offset as straight but slightly angled left or right. Okay?

Helical wraps around the arrow, as it says, helical...Offset is a straight fletch that is angled across the shaft surface...the angle causes air drag thusly spinning the arrow.

And forgivie my answer, although correct I would have worded it different had I paid attention to the title, on quickspins I would sooner offset than helical...Blazers as well.
