Shooting One Pin?

Shooting One Pin?
Just curious, how many people only shoot with one pin when hunting? I usually use three but I got a new bow and I think I am just going to use one pin this year. What yardage do you sight it in at?

bmwalker, this is my second year bowhunting and I only use one pin. I find it easier to concentrate and focus on. I have it sighted in at 20 yards. I raise it ever so slightly and 25-30 yards and lower it a minute tad within 15 yards. If I shot at longer distances I would think about adding a second pin but 99 percent of my shots will occurr well within 20 yards in timber.

If you want to try a single pin, buy a sight with one pin on a slider. I have the HHA OL-5000 and love it. It has one of the brightest pins out there and is virtually indestructable. I set my pin to 25 yards. I am good to 30 yards +/- 1". If I go to range and want to shoot 40+ yards, I just use the slider.
I feel a single pin eliminates having to pick which pin to use when the pressure is on.

I'm pretty much the same. I use one pin sighted in at 25yds., from 10-20 I am about 1"high, at 30 about 2" low and at 35 about 4-5" low. I have been doing this for about 5 years and I will never go back to multiple pins.

I also use one pin. I have it sighted in at 25 yards and from 0-30 I make no adjustments it on so close that I will kill any deer. After 30 yards I have to compensate a little. But while hunting I limit myself to 30 yards getting close is what bow hunting is all about so thats my limit. But I want you to know I am a hunter the 10 ring is good enough for me If you compete or 3d you may want to use more then 1 pin and get that 12 ring.

Are you guys also using high performance bows, that shoot arrows close to 300 fps?
I have a BuckMaster 2000 bow with a 52lb pull and 29" draw.I don't know what my arrow speed is but I'm sure it isn't close to 300.
I need a new sight and I'm looking for my best options. Thanks
