RE: New Leica 1200 yard Rangefinder Sweet!!!!!
Very Nice! I'vehad the larger Lieca 1200 since it has first came out. I love it. But I wish I had the compact size!
I'm primarily a bowhunter. But the 1200 model is very nice to have for the longer distance. I do a lot of spot and stalking with my bow. I will find a bedded deerwell over 200 hundred yards away. So I'll range the deer. Then I'll come up with a plan of attack. I need to know where I plan to shoot, and be sure that it's within my bow range. This is where the long distance ranging, comes in handy. If I can accuratly range a distance from the deer to the end of my stalk (behind a tree, boulder, etc), then I feel much more confident in my stalk, since I know roughly how far away the shot will be. I (like most people) have a hard time finding the distance between a rock and a deer, which is located a long distance away, without the use of a rangefinder. The last thing I want to do is have a 2 hour stalk on a deer,is to find out, that my "planned" shooting location is actually 65 yards away from the deer, instead of 40. Plus the accuracy and the optical clearity is hard to beat on a Leica. You get what you pay for. There's been times i've used it as a monocular. It's much better to look through as a monocular than a lot of lesser expensive binoculars out there today. |
