ORIGINAL: SBGobblers It just doesn't in my (and I don't know......"MAYBE" I could get 4 buddies myself.....so that WE could call ourselves '5', too) mind work as well as the one I NOW have (and I started with the one you like....and ditched IT). |

It's not too hard to fix though. I'm not givng it five stars simply because it is slightly loud, but you can easily silence it. Only complaint I can find is that it is somewhat loud on both the draw and release, but easily fixed with moleskin. Great rest but dont use on bows that shoot over 300fps The only complaint is the noise of the fork hitting the riser shelf when the rest falls away. A little moleskin padding took most of the noise away. With todays fast shooting bows and carbon arrows the little bit of noise should not be that much of a problem. I had a lot of fletching contact with this rest and could not shoot consistent groups. My local Pro shop couldn't help me either saying my brace height was too short for this bow. I am shooting a PSE Nitro. I know my brace height is a little short but isn't that why we go to a drop away to improve accuracy. I've since changed to a NAP quick tune 4000 and the problem has dissapeared. The rest ( Shakey Hunter ) is a great rest and needs a little refinement. The noise of it falling on the riser is another problem and there is noise when you draw and the wide finger lifts your shaft up off the riser. My hunting partner noticed this the first time I drew my bow in camp. Anything that has moving parts must focus on simplicity to gain any measure of reliability and this rest is solid. Only once in a tournament has this rest let me down, but I should have thoroughly checked my bow before the shoot. The negatives have already been stated, but I would agreeā¦there is some noise when the fork drops to the riser, and if you plan to quiet everything down for hunting a little neoprene or felt type padding does the trick just fine. I also put a little neoprene on the fork so it made no noise as it lifted my arrow. I installed the Shakey Hunter about 3 months ago, and at first was very impressed with the increased accuracy over the old prong style rest I'd been shooting for years. Recently though, I started seeing a decline in accuracy. With 6 arrows @ 20 yards, I would have 2 distinct groups, one about an inch high and 2 inches to the left of the other. I eventually found that there was about 1/64" of play where the "Y" met the horizontal bar. I tried tightening everything, but was unable to get rid of the wobble. This rest is unbelievable. Probably the best hunting rest ther e is! The only problems were the noise. It was a little noisy at first, but nothing a little mole skin or adhesive felt couldnt fix. i bought the trophy taker shakey hunter for my tribute. got it set up and timed and it waqs paper tuned in 10 minutes. i did have a little problems with it though. when shooting a higher profile vane like blazers. i did have some contact but all you have to do is adujst your cock vane a little, and it is fixed. all in all this is a great rest. it is durable and silent.( except for the rest falling, but that is fixed with some mole hair). A loud rest that has problems of declining accuracy and vane contact issues with certain vanes?? Yea..........I think I'll run out and get me a couple of those ![]() |

ORIGINAL: MOTOWNHONKEY Nap Quicktune 2000 RG You want me to order you one? No thanks.........I already have a NAP drop away. That is the one that I had all the problems with. Bowtech said it was because of a lack of cable travel but who knows.........that thing was a nightmare. For me anyways. That was a couple years ago though and I am sure they are better now.........at least I hope. |
RE: Whisker Biscuit making noise???
There is no cable on the 2000 RG. You must have bought the 2000. Just a few more dollars and your WB days would have been over. Do you want me to order you one?

RE: Whisker Biscuit making noise???
Atlas.....The only problem I have with YOU (not the WB)...is you seem to be calling me a liar. I was the only one in the woods the morning I got busted (well...me and the deer....and they ain't talkin).....and I say the only noise that could be heard when I was 27 ft away from my buck.....was the Radial X-Weave being dragged across the WB.
You say that's not whyI got busted. I've been hunting for 30 years. I've been humbled MANY, MANY times. I've done things in the duck blind (former AVID duck hunter) that had my LAB calling me a dumbaxx.....and I'm a big enough MAN to admit when I'm wrong (and for the record....I've never done anything but say the WB is a GREAT rest....and that I still haveit on my son's bows). Marriageand being afather hastaught melessons in humility. Believe me.....if something else had spooked my buck that morning....I'd tell you. For you to NOT BE THERE and have a crystal understanding of what went on.....is the only thing that's impossible. I wouldn't insult you by stating I knew what went on in YOURtreestand.....from another state. And yes....I have to put a small bit of moleskin on my rest (samerest as Motown, BTW).....but it's an easy fix. I've only had to apply it once....and it's had at least a thousand arrows slung throughit. I've even thought of anything else thatcould have been in play that morning. I DIDspray some white lightning on my bow (and the uiver was attached). I thought the powder/residue may have added to the noise. It may have.....but, again, I tested 3 other bows in the shop when I switched THAT DAY.....an they all made "the noise". Honestly....if someone could have shown me a way to silence the WB with little effort.....I'd have likely given that a shot. i still don't see a way that makes sense,TO ME.....and I'm alsovery happy with what I have. I SINCERELY wish you and you brother/friends a VERY successful season.Again...I am GLAD the WB works for you. Jeff |
