I'm not sure if it was the flash or the film advance, but something certainly did. The deer altered their pattern by cutting BEHIND the tree w/ my camera in it.

Short term - yes.......Long Term - No

It's appearedthere have been instances with my Camtrakkerswhere the deer have reacted to the flash, and started to run, before the camera could evensnap the pic. Also, (after the day the initial pic was taken) I've never taken a 2nd pic of a mature buck from the same tree/camera setup.
From my experience, they may not associate the encounter with humans/hunters...but the experience is something they seem to avoid a second time. For the last couple of years I've movedmy game cameras at least 40-50 yds each time I check them.

I really don't think the camerashave any long-term effects on whitetails. Ibelieve any ill-effectscan be attributed more on human scent left behind and the disturbance we make getting in & out of the area to check cameras. To be honest, I think some of the deer in my areaactuallyenjoy getting their picture taken:)

At first the deer were spooked but they all got used to the flash, now it looks like they are posing for the camera, I would send pictures but i cant figure out how to post them.

I think they get used to it pretty quick. I have mine out trying to get pics of a Black Bear that was spotted on a buddies property behind his pro-shop here in Pa.

I don't think that the deer have been spooked or have avoided my gamecam.

I had the same deer come in multiple times...and also different deer.
