We need to recruit our children into hunting up here. And WHA
will not do it or could not do it here. First of all we have more
woods than fields and pens filled with deer. Some of the areas
have very few deer and others are almost crowed with them.
And the hunters are becomingless and less, through in more and
more posted property the interest continues to shrink. The rumors
what others think hunting is like. Like a rumor that a deer was seen running around with an arrow stuck out of it for a year or the deer
that had an eye shot out of and was seen several times with only
one eye. Lets face it this gives all of us a bad name and more reason
to try and stop hunting. Education in the field and time to spend showing
and teaching our kids is the best way to go. If this cannot be done then
we will all become like the dinosaurs as a page in history.

I just checked The WHA website and I must say it is without a doubt the stupidest thing I have ever seen. I mean, are they serious? They really think by doing this they are going to advance our sport. I hope they all fall flat on their faces. Money, money, money. That's the bottom line. Not understanding of the sport. Whoever funded this piece of garbage, I hope you go bankrupt.

JMonsterZUMBO Competetion ? How do you mean ?

WHA is a money making gimick - nothing more, nothing less. They aren't recruiting new hunters, they are not trying to set ethical standards, they are not any of those things.

Why ?

They are out to make money. Nothing more, nothing less.

That they use the sport of hunting to do so ........ now THAT is something that should chap everyones ass. However they are a far lesser threat than canned hunting - and few people get in an uproar about that, so bottom line is we all disagree with those things, and none of us do anything about any of it really.

If you would do a little research you would see I've been on here for almost a year. Secondly I have never been the site you mention. Also I didn't realize that by saying I checked out their website and I didn't like what they were doing was voicing my opinion a "100 times over". If that is how you see it then you are a man of little patience. If you have have a problem with me thinking we need to maintain a little hertiage in our sport, them PM me I would be glad to discuss it. As for calling me a "plant" I take personal offense to that. Really if the best you can do is call someone a "plant" when they have an opinion that differs from yours, then maybe you should just keep your opinions to your self. Talk to later pumpkin!

I have to agree on the hesitation to overly promote the sport... I can see welcoming in true hunters, friends who want to get out in the woods, the real woods.... but commercial promotion always destroys things... and it generates more and more of the most scary scene that a hunter can have...
Most Scary Scene A Hunter Can Have: Pulling along that section of public woods that you hunt on to witness another vehicle pulling up... stepping out of the vehicle or four or five people, all dressed in brand spanking new outfits and sporting a gun or bow that virtually still has the price tag hanging on... these people have that first time jittery and ready to aim at anything look in your eye... really makes you want to pick a new hunting spot for your own safety.

And beyond that... the commercialism.... the outfitter deals, the "farms" where you have wildlife run to you, that sort of thing.

That and as much as I love hunting I want to consume my exposure to everything about it at my own level, not have it crammed down my throat. The most hilarious thing to me is this new poker kick... like poker is suddenly the most ballsy, cutting edge thing that one can do... the most comical ad that I've seen so far is one that says "Do You Have What It Takes To Play This Game?" I'm thinking... well, seeing how I've sorta been playing poker on the odd occassion for the last twenty five years or so.... and not the last two months... uh, yeah.....

Canned hunting is the real bastardization. I have been around the hunting block for quite some time and I have always noticed hunters to be ignorant, and set in their ways.

People are afraid of change... bottom line. Canned Hunting is a joke, WHA is innovative. Get with it people
The WHA is canned hunting....therefore a joke by your standards, your double talking.

My son has been hunting with me for a few years ,He is 16 now and wants to go out with his buddy and go it on their own.
They are finding tuff to get permision, around here land is a good investment it is being bought up and the first thing to go up is a private proporty sighn. They are afraid you wiil trip and sew them.
Other land is under control of outfitters or other hunters .
opportunitys for young hunters ar fewer than when Iwas yuong.
Years ago I read somthing about land being made avalable in the USA for hunters( Teddy Rosevelt ) This was the best idea Ive ever heard of to promot ower sport, did it work? If I spelt the name wrong no disrespect intendid

Rob/PA Bowyer WHA isn't about killing ....... correct ? its more of a target play thing that they've created.

steve m adn the result of what you're seeing ? More and more people turning to "game farms" and pretend hunting.

And somewhere along the way much will be lost
