Vibration dampeners
Hi everyone,
I have a diamond bow and it comes with those dampeners that go around the limbs and kinda look like spiders. I bought some of the sims button type dampeners that stick to the inside of your limbs. So my question is, Is one of these better than the other?, or should I use both or should I cut the "spider" ones off and just use the button ones? Thanks |
RE: Vibration dampeners
They are both quite good, but I would leave the Bowtech line on it. They were engineered for that bow, and there is no reason to remove those only to install different ones. Leave well enough alone, I say.

RE: Vibration dampeners
I would say leave it alone. I have shot some of their bows and they were quiet enough with the factory stuff on.

RE: Vibration dampeners
Leave the spiders on until you shoot them off and it won't take too long to do so. I bet the ones on my new Tribute didn't last 500 shots. I cut mine off after they lost there arms and last night I installed a rear mount STS. IMO it is a better string silencer than the string leaches for the spiders. Well worth the $$.

RE: Vibration dampeners
In my opinion the limb savers work better. I put both on my bowtech. Putting the limb savers on made a noticable difference. I also put the NV system on my mighty might and it improved it even further.
He is talking about the limbsavers I believe, not string dampners. I took the string dampners off right away and replaced them with puff balls. They just work better for me. Paul |
RE: Vibration dampeners
I am talking about the limb savers. Sorry for the confusion. Ya, the string leeches tore off almost right away. What do you all recommend for those?

RE: Vibration dampeners
I left the factory limbsavers on, or the "hush kit" things. I put cat whiskers on the string after the factory silencers started falling apart. Last week I added a STS. This is now a very quite bow with no hand shock.

RE: STS
What are these STS things? I've never heard of them before. I looked on the net, but does'nt stopping your string slow down the bow?
|
RE: STS
The STS is a great addition to a hunting rig. It really does quiet down most rigs and stiffles vibrations. I'd add one to your rig and see why so many people love this small rubber ended rod. You can purchase them from several sources including Cabela's and other mail order sources. Do a "search" on this forum and others and you'll find a TON on threads and posts about the STS.
As far as the LS's versus the Spyders.... I'd go with the SVL product. They just flat out work better than other companies rip-offs of the original. You'll notice the difference right away. Good luck and good shootin' |
