This Sucks

Just went out to shoot my bow and found that some one had pryed open my garage door. They took my bow my brother in laws bow and about 10 fishing poles and 2 tackle boxes full of lures. Well looks like im back to square 1. Police are investigating but sais there is so little evidence that i will more than likely never see my property again. Damn Theives Any suggestions on a new bow under 500 bucks.

Bummer.[&o] I hope you've got homeowners or renter's insurance to cover the loss.

Take a look at the BowTech TomKat all rigged up for about $550.

Hate to hear that. I can tell you that I would bet it had to be somebody who knew what was in that garage. Check local shops to see if some crack head is trying to sell your stuff off cheap... also check local pawn shops. Most people who use sporting equipment like that of our sport would not stoop so low as to steal it... they work hard to earn enough money to buy it.
Being a retired law enforcement officer, makes me automatically think of some drug addict who needs a fix and saw your gear in the garage... investigate it yourself and do not hesitate to keep on the cops who are supposed to be handling it.
Good luck.

Gr8atta2d what draw lenght is the bow you are taliking about.

Now you see why my bow and fishing gear (thats not locked in the boat) is in a locked case that I built in my attic.

Someone stealing my fishing gear would bankrupt me.

Sorry to hear that. I'd check out some PSE bows, they are great and you can get some for under 500$. There are plenty of bows you can get set up for under 500$ so just go to a pro shop and check them out.

Think inside job or fellow friend or neighbor and I bet there closer than you might guess like a teenager in the area. They new what they were looking for.:eek:I hope you catch the a$$ h***s.
I hope you had insurance and if not I hope you buy some after this cause it would have covered some of it.

Sorry to hear that your stuff got stolen. That sucks and it sounds like they knew what they were going after. Shouldn't your home owners insurance help with the expenses invovled in that??? When I was 14 my folks house was broken into. Insurance helped $$ wise to replace what was stolen.

Im sorry to hear that. I had 2 fishing rods in the back of my truck with nothing else in my bed. They were both snapped in half when I went to get them out that night. they were st. croix's too. close to 200 bucks down the drain. Shoulda kept them in the cab.

I like the Outbacks.

Bum deal, man, I really hate disrespectful, useless people. Check local pawn shops to see if anyone is stupid enough to try to sell them, they usually are rather dumb people. I hope that your stuff shows up sometime soon. Look at Diamond for nice inexpensive bows, look at the new Fred Bears also.

hardcorehunter 07-14-2006 05:31 PM

RE: This Sucks

I hate thieves. I wouldn't buy a new bow; I would scurry the streets, interrogate punk kids in the area, and get the word out that some heads were going to roll if my crap wasn't back there soon. Also hit up all the pawn shops. You know that they are not sportsman that stole your stuff as sportsman are honest for the most part. HCH

I had a 1600.$ siding brake stolen from my fenced in back yard memorial day weekend.
Now I believe; Chain it or lose it. Them damn crackheads don't care whos or whats as long as they can hock it...
I guess you can Look at it as an opportunity to upgrade though!!;)

RE: This Sucks

The best way to avoid it happening again is to not discuss with anyone what you own, nor allow those close to you to do it either. Jealousy and envy are powerful motivators.

Another vote for the Reflex line of bows.

That praying might just help. Have a friend who is a cop. He talked to a guy about hiring someone who needed help on rehab. The guy hired him and the cop prayed that day that he might be able to help the guy out. Shortly there after he pulled 2 guys over for a traffic violation and it turned out they had stolen stuff in their car, the guy who did the hirings stuff.
