Depends on your personal opionions on fixed or expandable. But there is alot of great broadheads out ofr each type.

Expandable:
Rockets
Deadheads
Wasp
All very good expandables
Fixed
Muzzy
Crimson Talons (new 1's look awsome)
Rocky mt

These are just to name a few. With what little I can know of your set up I would prolly recomend a fixed bladed broadhead under 100gr. Just my opionion doesn't mean it will be best for you.

crimson talons. packs a punch and creates a wound channel that will not close up therefore if you have to track him he will be bleeding good but usually they drop quick.

I hunted with muzzy's for years. My freind uses thunderheads. I bought them a few years ago and they have been great. Now if I would only start shooting deer again instead of being lazy.

Up to last year I was shooting a Browning Tornado with the 125gr Montec tipped xx75s, on a quarting away 30 yard shot, the XX75 went right through the opposite shoulder and eight inches into the ground.
I have changed bows this year, went to carbon arrows, but I still shoot Montecs, but they are now 100gr.
Once you get them home from the store, it wouldn't hurt to put a sharper edge on them, they aren't exactly razor sharp right out of the box.

Hi Cougars09
I use the same arrow and I had some old three blade 125 grain broadheads ( can't remember the name of them ) and shot good with them but I switched to Muzzey Bad To The Bone 4 blade 100 grain, now I'm shooting a whole lot better.
I like my Muzzey's I think their a pretty good broadhead.

Try the 100gr slick tricks..fly very well and with your poundage, might perform better on game than mechanicals.. just my opinion. Best of luck.

what grain would be better for my poundage and setup 100 or 85

You may want to go with the weight that gives you the most KE.
Here is the formula to calculate KE:
KE=(arrow weight in grains)(Velocity in FPS)(Velocity in FPS) divided by 450240
Keep in mind that you'll need to find the velocity for each different arrow weight.
I would recommend staying with a fixed head because of your arrow speed.
good luck.

I your F.O.C. calculation would determine what weight to use as to brand that is a personal choice. I use Thunderheads, but Muzzy, Montecs all are fine broarheads as are MANY others.

I shoot Thunderheads because they flew best out of my FX and I see no need to change. Your bow, and shooting dicipline may also lead you in one direction or another.

Try several after you find your F.O.C.

100 GRN Slick Trick

Cougars09 there is noway we could honestly know the the info your asking for but this is what i would suggest.

Take your bow and your arrows to a good archery shop.
Shot both 85gr and 100 gr. field pointsthrough cronograph(cn't spell to tired)
once you got your avg speed with each size head have them waigh your arrow- field point.

Take all this info to a web-site like goldtips.com and they got a KE calculator just put in wiaght of arrow and speed of that waight andit will tell you your KE for that setup.
