Land of Turkeys?
 

I hope you all had a great 4th of July. I know I did. I spent 5 days in Wonderful West Virginia. That has to be the land of turkeys. Every day/ all day longwithout fail, I was able to watch 5 to 20 turkeys hunt and peck in the field behind my brother-in-law's. were talking about 90 yards away with plenty of spots for a still hunt. These birds looked like the hadn't a care in the world. I guess next spring I may have to give them something to think about.

Five to twenty turkeys in a flock, huh?

Man, you need to get on a plane and fly out here around October.

We've got flocks of 50 - 90 birds that mingle with the cattle on the land I hunt. Mind you there are several flocks of this size and larger that frequent the property during the fall/winter months. Where they all go during the spring turkey season is beyond me, but they definitely winter on our land.

Washington Hunter has it right. Where I am in Kansas I see flocks of all sizes. From a few toms off by them selves to like 60 birds. I keep tabs on several flocks because I have a lot of public and private ground to hunt. Where they winter and where they are in the spring can be 2 very different places.
