Waxing Your Bowstring ???

I was down in my basement waxing my bowstring when I thought of something. I've never waxed any of the served parts of my string before, but should I be? Should I wax my string loop as well? I was like dumbfounded when that thought came upon me, so I figured I would ask you guys for the answer. Thanks!

I wax it all. It keeps moisture away from the string.

I use BCY ML-6, and it's a silicone based string wax. I wax everything, serving included. The ML-6 soaks through the serving and keeps the string underneath conditioned. And as was mentioned, it keeps moisture off of the serving so it doesn't rot.
