GOLD TIPS??
Gold Tips Pro Hunters? Or Gold Tip XT Hunters?
.001.003 For about $30 difference, does it matter for Hunting? Should I save myself the 30 bucks and use it for something else? |
RE: GOLD TIPS??
What type of bow are you shooting? What are you hunting for? How often do you practice? What draw weight are you using? What broadheads are you shooting? It shouldn't be a problem either way, but make sure to check the specs of your bow. Good luck and good hunting.

RE: GOLD TIPS??
Bow specs shouldn't matter at all. It's the age old question of whether you can shoot good enough to tell the difference in a few thousandths of an inch. Most people can't. For shots 30-40 yds and under at deer, save your money and spend the $30 on some other accessory.

RE: GOLD TIPS??
Save yourself the 30 dollars. .002 isn't going to make any difference in the woods. I'm not sure itsgoing to make that much difference in competitions.

RE: GOLD TIPS??
I use the XT Hunters and have had great luck with them!

RE: GOLD TIPS??
I would have to say save the thirty bucks for something else if these are going to be hunting arrows. Most of the bows and arrows we own are capable of more than most of us are capable of getting from them.

RE: GOLD TIPS??

RE: GOLD TIPS??
Unless you're really anal about your gear.......like me (I shoot the Pro's;))
Buy the XT's but here's why: If you take each shaft and cut evenly from BOTH ENDS to reach your desired length shaft you will eliminate most of the "runout" on the ends where the straightness deviation lies. Remember these are all the same shafts it's just that the Pros grade out better over the full length shaft blank. If you cut evenly from both ends you can make the XT's very close to the specs of the pros by removing the "bad parts". Buy the Xt's and either do it yourself or INSIST that your pro-shop cut from both ends to get you your usable shaft length. Then you can feel like you got your Pros and saved enough $$$ to buy some new broadheads. (You can also feel like you got one over on the man.;)) |
RE: GOLD TIPS??
Great Tips guys.. Thanks.. I'm getting the XT's and I'll cut from both ends..
