shooting troubles
I have been shooting my bow pretty much every day now. Last two times I have not been shooting very well. First time I figured I was getting tried rested a few days. Still cant shoot very well. Do you ever hit a point where you cant hit anything?

RE: shooting troubles
yep, and usually i'm doing something like turning my hips, or dropping my bow arm - or not relaxing my bow hand, or something simple i've already learned but didn't realize i'd stopped - or started. if its possible - get someone to videotape you shooting.

RE: shooting troubles
I had the same problem. It turned out I was having trouble with my anchor point. I switched to a smaller release witch I have more muscle memory to put to in the same position every time.

RE: shooting troubles
Go back to fundamentals,it is either a form error or an equipment error. If you are convinced your form is solid than I would have your bow checked out.Good luck!

RE: shooting troubles
I have a sticker on the top of my riser facing me. On it I have written the following. This is on every bow I shoot.
Nock arrow Attach release Set grip hand Set front elbow Reach for and aquire target Set front shoulder (low) Breathe Draw Anchor Set scapula Commit Execute Aim When I start missing or feel that I am executing poor shots, I head to a 10 yard target butt and blank bale and look at this list of my shot sequence until I can figure out what is going wrong. I can usually fix what I am doing wrong fairly quick this way. |
