Help Selecting Carbon arrow/broadhead
Ok this will be my first year of bowhunting(deer and maybe coyote)...I just got a used bow that is a Champion brand but I can't remember the name of the bow its a 2004 model single cam and I will have a pull weight of 65lbs..my draw length is 29''...ok now I wanting to get a dozen carbon fiber arrows from cabelas....I would like some help determining waht length I will need, how much should the arrow with nocks, vanes, and the threads weigh...I am thinking I should get cut on contact broadheads that are 100 grain...if you guys could help me out that woudl be great..thanks in advance

RE: Help Selecting Carbon arrow/broadhead
I just did some calculating on the weight of my arrows WITHOUT broadheads and I have two choices....290.65 grains or 329 grains...now this is also without the weight of the vanes and guessing that my arrows will be 29.5'' long..and again I am thinking about putting 100 grain cut on contact tip on them also...

I also shoot a Champion Bow, a Stinger. I just bought the new Full Metal Jacket arrows from Easton. They have a carbon center with a metal outer shell. I will tell you what. They are one awesome arrow. They fly like darts. They are pricy though, but when it comes to hunting who cares!!!

RE: Help Selecting Carbon arrow/broadhead
the arrows I am looking at come in these different shaft sizes.....50-70 and 65-80....since my pull will be 65 lbs which ones should I get??

I would say 50/70

RE: Help Selecting Carbon arrow/broadhead
Depends on how long the shaft will be and what weight broadhead you will be using to determine the size you should get. Lots of factors come into play when choosing an arrow. Post all of your specs and figure out how long the arrow will be, then we'll be able to determine spine.

RE: Help Selecting Carbon arrow/broadhead
Your best option would be a pro shop. They can measure the arrows and cut them to length for you. There are entirely TOO many good arrows to mention, so pick your price and stick w/ it. The only thing I will say, get the best ones you can afford. You'll be glad you did. As far as broadheads, again, too many to list. BUT, Magnus Stingers are wicked evil nasty sharp and fly like darts, Sonic, Slick Tricks, just too name a few.

RE: Help Selecting Carbon arrow/broadhead
well my draw length is 29'' so I would say my arrows should be 30''...or would you guys go 29.5''??100 grain broadhead I was either going Magnus Sniffer or the Slick Trick...65 lb pull..single cam...using a release..

RE: Help Selecting Carbon arrow/broadhead
Your arrow should be 1" beyond the rest. If your draw is 29", you will prolly get away w/ a 28" arrow. My DL is 30, and my arrow length is 29.
