Bow slings
Are the bow slings found in Cabela's catalog and the like worth it?
Are there one's that are significantly better than others? I am more of a stalk hunter myself, and most of where I want to hunt is either going to be on or close to ground or stalking thru. Add that I plan to spend as much time as I can using the bow for small game and I was thinking that a sling might make it easier but I don't want to have to be uncovering or completely detatching it every time I want to shoot. I mean the slingstocarry the bow, at your side etc, not the sling on the grip for your wrist. |
RE: Bow slings
I've got one of HS Strut's fleece slings on all four of my bows; they're about $8 and perfect, IMO.

RE: Bow slings
The reason to have a sling is to allow you to have a relaxed grip on the bow and not having the bow jump out of your hand on release. Given that, whether you're stalk hunting, stand hunting, or what have you, they are a good idea.
The one's Greg speaks of are very good, as are the rope kind. |

I Should have made this clearer,
I mean the bow carry slings, not the sling for the grip. Used similar to a carry sling on a rifle. |
RE: Bow slings
I have the Primos bow sling and I love it.
