Drury Brothers

I just finished watching two of the latest Drury CDs, Whitetail Madness 9 and 100%Wild Fair Chase(Hang to Kill) First off the boys work hard for their money. They must have a zillion hang-on treestands, blinds etc. Secondly, they have some great properties to hunt. In more than one scene there were 5 or 6 bucks that would put most deer the average guy hunts to shame. BUT, they work hard at it. The Hang to Kill tape is really good and different from the average run of the mill tape. They go into all sorts of things about hanging, scouting, and I'm glad to say they preach on wind and currents. They plant acres and acres of food plots. I bet if you figured it out their meat must cost them $500 a pound.[8D] Anyway, the boys do know their stuff. Of course it's easy for me to agree with someone that thinks like I do.[8D] I wonder if they own blue undies. But, if you're in the mood for a different video try the Hang to Kill one. It's really good. Best cheap entertainment you can get for 2 1/2 hours. Best yet, it's not filled with hunts by 2 year instant celebrity "Experts". All good hard hunting knowledgeable hunters like the folks here on HNI. How about a plug for the boss. I bought them right here on HNI. There's a banner at the top of the page advertising theDrury tapes are in. NO, I'm not sucking up, just telling you how easy they are to get. Got them in a few days. Good stuff. A couple very well done videos. Coming from a crotchetty old fart that likes to pot shot celebrities that's saying something. Maybe I'm ill.[&:][8D][8D][8D]

Wow..........where is that fainting smilie?;):D

Dave I couldn't agree more, I have been a big fan of the Drury's for a long time, they just always seem to do everything exactly the way that I want it to be seen.
You're right they work hard at it and I look forward to seeing those 2 videos you mentioned.
If you ever have the pleasure to speak with Mark or Terry or attend one of their seminars in person they are a treat.

I have their book and enjoyed it very much! Really practical and informative. With your endorsement of their video's I may have to check them out.For some reason I don't mind spending money on books but I never buy video's.

Thanks for the recommendation Dave. I have heard some good things about these guys but have never seen any of their work. I have to put those 2 videos on my "to buy" list.;)

I couldn't agree with David any more. I grew up on Drury videos since they started out and it truly is amazing to watch their progression throughout the years. They started out shooting 1 1/2 year old bucks and now look at them.

IMO Hang to Kill is without a doubt their best video to date. I have watched it 3 times already. There's a lot of great info in there regarding plant food plots around a specific tree, getting into and out of your stand, watching thermals, etc. I HIGHLY recommend this video to any serious, and even you not-so-serious, whitetail addicts.

Oh and davidmil - I threw a few "extras" in your box - hope you enjoy them. :)

OK... Like I needed one more video this year... ;)

Thanks for the write-up, David; you just dented my wallet for another $20 or so I'm sure. :D

Of course, you COULD use that $20 to rent several DVDS, including the new Drury titles from HuntFlix!

We currently have more than 550 titles on DVD, available for rent via our unique Unlimited Hunting DVD Rental Program. Most of these titles are also in stock and available for immediate purchase.

All this talk of Hang to Kill I had to order it [8D]

Drurys have been my favorites for some time now.

How was the second season of pros vs. amatures? I didn't catch to many of the episodes on ODC this past season.

Justin if you think it is a good watch can you just add it to my order or will mycredit cardinfo have to be resubmitted?

If you think it's good and you can just add it on please do so. If not no problem.

Off to work :eek:Later.

Without a doubt those boys are just awesome. They make the BESTvideos out there. The time the effort to film as much as they fim is truly awesome. I could only think how much great flim end up on the editing room floor.

The Drurys deserve so much credit for letting people in on all the secrets of the pros to the common guys that don’t have 365 days in the woods a year to learn all that stuff. That is something about the Drurys that you cannot say about any one else in the Video business.

Long live the Drurys.

I really love the Drury bros too. I've learned a lot from them. They are not afraid to teach and they keep hunting fun. There goes my $20 too. :D

You're right David, they pass up a number of bucks that are monsters anywhere else. In one of their videos they mention that they are hunting their own 1000 acres in a 200 acre wooded section. That certainly helps, but they can hunt them too. I enjoy their videos also because they shoot does and seem to get just as excited about that. I wish more "pros" would do that so that people who watch the videos would givethe 1.5 and 2.5 year oldsa break.

I haven't seen either of them yet, but will purchase them shortly. I've heard great things about the "Hang to Kill" video from a lot of people. Even though I seem to like their video's from the earlier years the best,I still buy them every year.

I have their last 6 videos including the new Dream Season and Whitetail Maddness, and every year i am more and more impressed with each new movie they have out. And out the thirty or so hunting videos i have, the drury videos are my favorite. I havent seen Hang to Kill yet but from what im hearing it sounds like its going to be a new favorite.

The Drurys seem like great guys. this year on a family vacation we saw terry's construction business in bloomsdale missouri, but couldnt find the video place. The amature team that won last year lives in junction city, wisconsin which is less than 15 miles from my house. the new show starts the 27th i heard.

I've had the pleasure of meeting both brothers at the NWTF convention and other sports shows. They will always take the time to talk to you and keep it real. They are always looking for a new oppurtunity and input from the real hunters out here.

That's because it's nothing more than a real large metal shed with a very small sign out front; last time I was there, they didn't even sell out of it -- it was just a warehouse for them.

Okay, all this agreement is driving me nuts, not to say I'm contrary or anything. But I see everybody here loves the Drurys. That's great, but I don't like them.

I get in trouble sometimes for bagging on the big names in hunting, but the Drurys rank near the top of my list among hunting "experts" that I can barely stomach. I don't think I've ever read an article of theirs that I thought had even a modicum of useful information. Seems to me they are mostly interested in selling their next invented deer call or hyping moon effects. My report card:

Bill Winke C - (everything is predicated on owning farmland in IA)

Michael Hanback C

The Drury Clan D - (invent one more call and it's gonna be an F)

Craig Boddington A -

Chuck AdamsF

Wayne Carlton C + (entertaining to listen to, used car salesman)

Will Primos B - (intensity bordering on a-hole territory, another salesman)

Bill Jordan C (funny at times, should hunt outside a fenced enclosure someday).

Guys:

I know Dream Season is shown on The Outdoor Channel, but are any of the hunts that are on the 100% Fair Chase 6 shown on any shows?

Or are they exclusively on the DVDs?

I see Cabelas has a decent Vol 5 and Vol 6 bundle price of $19.99.

Thanks.
